Geopoli'ek en energie (olie en gas)
Coby van der Linde 22 september 2014
Plan

Primary energy demand, 2035 (Mtoe)

• New supplies of fossil fuels costlier and riskier to develop • Rising capital intensity of fron'er projects (capex/barrel) • 2000-‐2012: capex rose more than five-‐fold

Groei VS olie produc'e en onderbrekingen ROW
Groei produc'e VS compenseert onderbrekingen elders; verschuivingen in stromen wereldmarkt
EIA
Olievraag groeit in non-‐OECD-‐landen
Fiscal needs of key producing countries keep pressure on oil prices
• Breakeven costs, budget breakeven and commercially aerac've prices for current oil produc'on for selected producers, mid-‐2011
• Middle East oil resources remain the cheapest, although cost pressures are increasing even there & governments need ever higher prices to meet their public spending needs

Conclusies
