Dancing on the Edge, the festival of contemporary arts from the Middle East and North Africa, is a platform for artists from the region to show what moves them. From 6 to 23 November 2013 the festival presents a heady mix of theater and dance performances as well as multimedia installations by artists from Tunisia, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Palestine, Iran, Egypt, and other countries in the Dutch cities Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Enschede, and Groningen.

Sterker met een StemKunst en cultuur vervullen een basisbehoefte van mensen. Ze geven hen
ruimte tot expressie, bevorderen dialoog en reflecteren vaak maatschappelijke
kwesties. Juist daarom ondersteunt Hivos initiatieven op het gebied van kunst
en cultuur zoals het festival ‘Dancing on the Edge’. Zo geeft Hivos mensen een
stem, omdat een stem het sterkste wapen is tegen onrecht en onderdrukking.
