Oki Sato founded nendo in Tokyo in 2002 at the age of just 24.Ten years later, Oki Sato was announced 'Designer of the Year' by

Wallpaper magazine and won the Elle Deco International Design Award.

The nendo design philosophy is to transform people's interaction with

everyday objects by creating small moments in everyday life.

The inspiration for the fusion collection came from the Japanese art of

origami. It is a blend of Japanese aesthetics and Danish functionality

where new, unexpected twists in materials, shapes and colours

In the elegant Mayfair district, only astone's throw from the famous OxfordStreet and with a view to the CanadianEmbassy, the apartment is Sam andEddie's home as well as their base fortheir nancial investment business.They may be clean-cut, ambitious

businessmen who dress in elegantsuits for work and meetings, but theirfriendliness and relaxed attitude makeseveryone feel welcome in their home.When they have time to relax, they enjoyshopping, good food and vintage wineor maybe a hockey game on TV, andpreferably in the company of lots of goodfriends.

When the brothers wanted a new sofa,the challenge was to nd somethingthat matched the existing interior ina room that includes a living, diningand working area. They consultedBoConcept Concepter Antonio LpezGonzlez who came to their home to take

measurements, see the existing furnitureand talk to the brothers about their ideasand preferences.The result is a Cenova sofa with lots ofseating space for all their friends. Thedark grey fabric is comfortably soft andcreates a calm base in a room wherethere is a lot going on. A coffee table withbuilt-in storage space helps them to keep

the place tidy. The neutral colour baseand smooth surfaces make room for avery personal display of their favouritethings and interests without makingit look cluttered. The result is a roomwhere the two brothers can eat, work,dine, relax and entertain all in one

The Kuwanos'urban family concept

White is everywhere in the

minimalistic, yet very elegant

home of the Kuwano family

where there is plenty of room to

combine family life with work in

an amazing urban setting.

They had considered living outside of Tokyoto get a bigger house with garden but theKuwano family chose to live close to the citycentre and near Katsumi Kuwano's successfule-com company. They found their own littleoasis where Mr Kuwano can enjoy moretime with his family instead of spending timetravelling to and from work.The couple shares the taste of simplicity andboth have a strong preference for pure white.While it is the perfect colour to make theirspace look bigger, the challenge of only usingwhite is to avoid the space becoming cold andimpersonal.BoConcept Concepter Takashi Masudaused white as the base colour but suggestedthat the family chose different surfacesand textures to upgrade the overall look.

Together they carefully selected only a few,very delicate accessories for an elegant touchwithout compromising the understated,simple style that the family wanted to achieve.
