Well, let me tell you that you are wrong.

Like they say, don’t judge a book by it’s cover.

-Looks the same as the original LockClip?

- Nothing much of a different?

- What is so special about this LockClip than the original LockClip?

From first-hand experience, the founder of Lockclip

identified an opportunity to improve the clips used by

divers for ‘safety line’ attachment and connecting

equipment to their harnesses.

Currently cheap ‘dog clips’ are used as they are

readily available. However, they are easily jammed bysalt and grit, are unable to be released when under

tension, and are difficult to operate with gloved hands.

Lockclip developed a basic clip configuration to

overcome these issues, and then worked in

conjunction with CobaltNiche to engineer and develop

the end product. The challenge was to address themechanical and ergonomic requirements given the

difficult ‘underwater’ operating environment.

CobaltNiche was responsible for design and

engineering of the assembly in conjunction with

Lockclip, and the manufacture of a range of pre-

production prototypes for field trials.

-Same as a normal pushchair?

Mylo is born, an intelligent transport system for Mamas and Papas

DCA director, Nick Mival explains ‘A pushchair is inherently a series of compromises,

contradictions and trade-offs. There are few products I can think of that are required to do

so much. Controversially I don’t think there is a perfect pushchair. Every pushchair has to

decide what its agenda is and deliver on that, otherwise it won’t deliver on anything’.

‘So many pushchairs prioritise convenience for the parent and start by designing a frame. We started by shifting the balance from ‘parent first’ to ‘parent and baby equal’. This led

to moving the baby more centre stage and designing from the seat and cot out rather than

the frame in, equalling the comfort of the baby with convenience for the parent. The Mylo

is a 3 in 1 travel system which now offers best in class baby comfort in each format’.

Mamas and Papas said ‘DCA demonstrated an enormous technical ability to be able todeliver a project like this. Their multidiscipline team and intelligent approach complimented

our in-house skill base and we were able to share the breadth and depth of knowledge

within that circle easily. DCA has been strengthening its design strategy and research

teams integrating them with their industrial design and engineering core. This has helped

us develop a new visual brand language for Mylo to compliment its innovative engineering.

This continued investment is important to us as we look to have a long relationship withDCA bringing more ideas to market.

-Unzipable hood for more shade and can see baby through window panel.

-Great wheel suspension making it light to push and adjustable handle for your comfort.

-Adjustable backrest for baby to lie down in a flat position for comfort and rest.-Gate opening bumper bar making it easier to get the baby in and out.

-Unique soft molded seat.

-Turnable seat. Just press the button under the seat and turn it around.

-What is that?

-A white colour wheel?

-What does it do?

-What is so special about this wheel?

But the most notable feature of the CopenhagenWheel is its KERS or Kinetic Energy Recovery System,a mechanism by which energy from braking is storedup for later use, giving the rider a boost when going upa hill or speeding through traffic. Some bicycle puristshave already dismissed the wheel as a novelty while

others suggest that M.I.T. has succeeded inreinventing the wheel.

Today at the COP 15 Climate Change Conference inCopenhagen, M.I.T. students introduced the technologicallyadvanced Copenhagen Wheel. In addition to including varioussensors and Bluetooth capability, the tire stores kinetic energyfrom braking for a later burst of speed. The makers of the

Copenhagen Wheel from M.I.T.'s SENSEable City Laboratoryclaim that the new features mark the advent of "Biking 2.0," anew era based on smarter bikes and easier rides. The wheel iscertainly a step in that direction; it includes sensors for detectingdistance, speed, direction, all of which are beamed via Bluetoothto the rider's iPhone. The wheel also includes a built-in lock that

sends the rider a text if tampered with.
