• Geen standaard therapie in gelocaliseerd prostaatcarcinoom

• Salvage cryotherapie na radiotherapie• Ziekte controle na recidief

1.Extracellulair ijs-cristal-formatie (<-7°C)→terugtrekken van water hyperosmotisch extracellulair gebied→ water is onttrokken aan cellen→ cell krimpen, membramen en cellen worden beschadigd

door dehydratie

2. Intracellulair ijs-cristal-formatie (<-15°C en snel (!) bevriezing ~25°C/ min)→ laat langzaam osmotisch proces niet toe→ ijs cristallen reageren→ verstoring cel functie en cel membraam

Naalden worden geplaatst onder transrectale echo

Twee bevriezings cycli snel naar -30°C, en temperatuur 10 minuten vasthouden.
