Among major U.S. metro areas, Austin was ranked by MagnifyMoney.com as changing the most in the past ten years. There has been a 54 percent rise in home prices since 2006 (the largest of any city); 60 percent of residents having moved since 2010; a 40 percent jump in job growth; and a 34 percent increase in median income.

The number of skyscrapers over 100 meters is increasing by about 25% to 50% every year since 2004 (Skyscrapercenter.com), with the tallest breaking ground soon (Austin Business Journal 2018), and 20 downtown high-rises currently under construction just last year (Curbed Austin 2017). Sales of luxury downtown condos, selling for more than $3 million, have doubled in sales during the last two years (KVUE 2018).
