Church of West Virginia held at Spilg Fork, September i9th thru. 24th, 1933;

Greetings in Jesis dear iame: I am re.ni:ided by the heading of tins report that I am now

closing my tventiethyear as list. Sapt. ol the W. Va. Dist. and while the duties of the office have not always been uleasant, it has been a pleasure. to have the fellowship ani cooperatmo: of the preachers and members of the District.

This assembly will be oce of i n:xrtance as we will not meet again until after the General Assembly h met. We should therefore pas such resolutions as will be helpful in making the church more spiritual, but avci'-1 smih resolutions as are uci:-essei:tial.

During the asserhly year I l:ave visited each church four times and held quarterly busiaess meeti: gs each time with the excep-tion of two churches. I was compelled to se d my asistant tu these for the last quarterly meeting on accou:t of meetings I was engaged iii as evangelist. Ihave traveled 12334 miles; attended 257 services besides the business meetings; preached i8 times with the result 01285 seekers at th;e preaching services, and have lad six revival meetings. one in each of the follo'ing states:- Michigan, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania and two in West Virgini.

During the year there has been one mission organized with a membership of eleven, at Naugatuck, W. Va., and a mission at Vienna, W. Va. has been organized into a church with a membership of 15 (two have united since, making a membership of 17).

Through the ruling of the last Dist. Assembly, making the support of the Dist. Supt. a preferred claim, my support has keen practically paid in full. I have ieceived, above expenses. $1116.45, leaving a balance of only $53.62, but you will notice by the District

Treasurer's report that we have fallen short on all other district claims some of which will have to be provided for by the ways and nieaiis Committee.

We purchased a tent for the District and two meetings were held, the report of whch ivill be made by Rev. Lloyd Andre who had charge cf the same.

During the year we visited two churches, Jenkinjones and Bramwell and investigated the organization of a church at Bluefield. The Church at Blue field has since gone to the Wesleyans. For this trip I received $13.08 and lily expenses were $9.45.

and accepted. Report of DISTRICT TENT \VORK:- To the 24th District

Assembly of the Pilgrim Holiness Church of W. Va. Greetings: The tent was first pitched at Kenova W. Va. be-

ginning on May 25th and ending on June 28th 011 account of the Dis-trict Camp at Huntington. We were assisted about io days during this meeting by our Dist. Supt. Rev. J. F. Woods, and occasionally by other ministers of our District. At the tine of this meeting there were two other tent nieetings in progress near by of other denomina-tions, there fore the crowds and results were not normal. Only two saved and three sanctified. My support was approximately $20.00 less $ io.00 for oil and gas driving to and from Huntington.

Our next meeting was in Weston, W. Va., beginning on the a4th of July, ending on August 27th. We were assisted in this nieet-irig likewise by our District Supt. and Rev. J. S. Hankins, Pastor of our Clarksburg church. In this meeting there were 12 saved- and 4 sanctified. My support was $40.46.

Moved and carried this be substituted to read;- That we strike out of Par. 3, Sec. 61 of our Church Manual the words "from outside the hounds of the District Organization in which it is located" and the word "should" to shall. ACCEPTED as MEMORIAL to General Assembly.

RES. No. 7. Whereas, too large a district (by which is meant, too many churches as nell as too much territory) cannot be properly supervised by one Dist. Supt; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, That the General Board may arrange the boundaries of such districts as do not have proper supervision until such supervision as is proper may be secured. ACCEPTED as MEMORIAL to General Assembly.

RES. No 8. Vhereas there is a tendency by some of our districts to disregard the direction of the Manual regarding the calling of pastors and choosing stationing committees follwing customs contrary to the practices and usages of our church government therefore: BE IT RESOLVED that such practices be discontinu - ed and the rules of our Manual be followed. Referred back for redrafting and not presented again.

RES. No. 9. Whereas the only statement as to a quorum of our church meetings is found under the heading of called church meeting, Sec 57. P. 38, there-fore, BE IT RESOLVED that a majority of resident membeis shall constitute a quorum whether a regular or called meeting. Referred back for redrafting and not presented again.

RES. No. to. Since it is a fact there is nothing binding in Our Manual in regards to the dress question and we have reached the time that we must draw a line. therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that our ladies be asked to wear their dresses not shorter than nine inches from the floor and that they do not wear contrasting colors in shoes and hose. Lost.

RES. No. It. Since it is a fact that many times other Holiness churches coining into the community of the Pilgrim church and in many cases engaging Pilgrim workers, is a detriment to the Pilgrim church, therefore; BE IT RESOLVED That no Pilgrim preacher be permitted in other churches of the same community of thc Pilgrim church without the consent of the resident pilgrim pastor. Adopted as a MEMORIAL to the General Assembly.

RES. No. 12. We recomineu I that the following he inserted in the re-ception of members. page 26. Sec. 30 at the end of living a christian consistent life: "And are not chvorced and remarried and living with second party while first party lives. Adopted as MEMORIAL to General Assembly.

RES. No. 13. \Ve recommend that each church at their annual meeting prior to the General Assembly nominate one lay delegate to the Annual Assembly and that the lay delegates to the General Assembly be elected from this number. Adopted as MEMORIAL to General Assembly.

RES. No. 14. Resolved, That in Sec. 151 of our manual the selcction of the ministerial delegation shall read "ten'' instead of "seven", and the lay delega-

tiori "300" instead of "200". Adopted as MEMOIUAL to General Assembly. RES. No. i5. DISTRICT RESOLUTION. Be it resolved that a stand-

ing Statistical Committee be appointed at the close of each annual assembly to serve throughout the next assembly. Adopted.
