Excavat ion of exist ing pr ivate parcel to create a sur face detent ion

faci l i ty that can funct ion as publ ic open space dur ing the dry season.

 The depth of the adjacent storm dra in inf rast ructure requi res an up to

10-foot excavat ion to provide f low control wi thou t backwater ing the

exist ing publ ic storm dra in system. The bottom of the detent ion faci l i ty

may be designed to provide water qual i ty t reatment for low f lows pr ior  

to discharge. Project provides f low control as an of f- l ine system.

Street improvements a long downtown main st reet to faci l i ta te

complete st reet concepts and integrate bioretent ion faci l i t ies

and permeable pavements. Streetscape improvements requi re a

par tnership wi th adjacent proper ty owners to the west to a l low for  

publ ic walkway and ameni t ies zone wi thin the exist ing park ing area

that l ies outs ide the r ight-of-way. Permeable pavement to reduce

runoff and bioretent ion to provide water qual i ty t reatment pr ior to

discharge to the downstream system. Water qual i ty t reatment is

l imi ted to sur rounding pavement areas, however improvements may

intercept of f-s i te f lows f rom parcels.

Description of Retrofit :

Reconstruct ion of the exist ing st reet to di rect sur face runoff to the

south and into cascading stormwater planters. Stormwater planters

to provide water qual i ty t reatment for road runoff and at tenuate f lows

pr ior to discharge to the downstream system. Downstream system has

been ident i f ied to have f looding concerns and l imi ted inf rast ructure

due to proximi ty to water f ront.
