Welcome Back Welcome back to another term of school. It was so lovely coming back to so many refreshed and cheerful faces on Monday morning. This is a shorter term than last term, with 9 weeks of learning and of course, aMonday off on Monday 2 June for Queen's birthday. Classes are already beginning their enviro focus learning. Mana have been supported by Matua Steve to learn about kaitiakitanga, Thunderbolts are investigating if lizards could live at our school, Kea are looking at composting with worms, Karaka are learning about growing food that will lead to health and my Superheroes will be learning about what we can do to attract native birds to our school. Added to this, our middle school class, Thunderbolts, went with DOC to do some re-planting on the hill area between Z and the Army Museum. We have been working with DOC and Horizons to plant this area out for recreational use and eventually we hope that there will be walking and orienteering tracks there. I am hoping that on Sunday morning, all mothers in the community will be celebrated. I have copied this little snippet fromwww.theparentingplace.com It is particularly scientific source, but it's certainly entertaining) 1.
