I am writing this in the middle of February, and the temperature is reading 12 degrees Celsius while the sun beams through the window in my office. Needless to say, I can see the light; winter is on its way out. I have said it before, “winter is

not my thing!” Our family was not able to get away this winter, but for the first time it wasn’t completely unbearable, as Mother Nature has had mercy on us!

I have had a wonderful few months meeting with existing and new business owners who contribute tremendously to the community. In this issue, you will find several new faces. Blue Rock Wellness, has opened it’s doors, and offers hot yoga! Gary Indech has tons to teach us regarding wills and estates. Airikka Passmore & Associates has been helping small businesses in town with their accounting needs, and her team is dynamite! Southside Paints is also making an appearance and helping with your decorating needs. Ryan Haydar has been in the real estate industry for 15 years, and is the new President at Milton BMX Club. I didn’t even know we had a BMX club, did you? Now that spring is here, if you are lucky enough to have a pool, Cannonball Pools is your go to for everything pools. Last but not least, Hand Heart & Sole would love to help you heal your body through various techniques, including reflexology and so much more!

I encourage you to connect with them and all of our hard working business owners; tell them you saw them in Family Matters!

Steps to Take to Recover from an AffairLearning about a partner’s infi delity is likely one of the biggest betrayals one could experience. In the immediate aftermath of an affair coming to light, both partners typically experience a roller coaster of emotions. The partner who had the affair tends to feel guilt, shame, fear, and even relief that they no longer have to hide their behaviors. Their partner, in the face of such a betrayal, often feels disoriented, as the one person they thought would be loyal and truthful has instead lied to them and kept secrets. In order to continue and strengthen the relationship, and to reduce the probability of future betrayals, it is necessary for the couple to undergo four key steps.

1. Understand the ImpactThe partner who has had an affair needs to understand what their partner’s experience is in order to remain supportive. Their partner will likely have dramatic shifts in moods in response to their internal thoughts or memories, ranging from sadness (sense of loss of the relationship and the partner they believed they had), anger (at the lies and betrayal), anxiety (fear of the relationship ending or continued affairs), and disconnection (attempts to block out hurtful feelings). Due to the breach in trust, their partner will likely also be highly suspicious and perhaps obsessive about their whereabouts and behaviors.

The partner who has just learned of their partner’s infi delity may be confused by their partner’s behaviors after the affair has come to light. Commonly, the unfaithful partner’s fi rst response

Between 20-25% of men, and 10-15% of women admit to having been unfaithful at some point. There is less difference between the genders among younger samples.

After the Affairis one of denial, an attempt to maintain the secret. Afterwards, the unfaithful partner typically expresses remorse, guilt and shame, but at other times may become defensive (in order to reduce the guilt and shame) or withdrawn (attempts to block out emotions).

2. Full DisclosureIn order to rebuild the trust, it is essential that the partner who has had the affair fully discloses the nature of the affair. Although this should include things like when the affair began, methods of communication, and the extent of the affair (emotional or sexual), it is typically not a good idea for partners to share graphic descriptions of sexual acts.

3. Restore the TrustIn order to restore the trust in the relationship, it is essential that the partner who has had the affair fully discloses the nature of the affair, provides a genuine and heartfelt apology, and continues to behave in a manner worthy of trust. This may include providing their partner with access to private information (e.g. email, bank statements) and/or updates as to their whereabouts. It is often necessary under times of stress and anxiety for the partner who had the affair to reassure their partner of their love and ongoing commitment to the relationship. It is essential at such times that they do not get angry or defensive in response to their partner’s continued anxieties.

4. Strengthen the RelationshipUnderstanding the circumstances that contributed to the infi delity can be a challenging process, as

there is often not one clear explanation. However, understanding the circumstances will allow you to decide where to best direct your emotional energy in regards to strengthening the relationship.

a. Know your partnerThe most common reasons people give for having an affair relate to an unfulfilled relationship need, a need that is not being met in their relationship with their partner. In particular, partners sensitive to criticism or rejection are vulnerable to people and relationships which include admiration, praise and attention. Partners who require connection are vulnerable to people and relationships in which they are a priority and feel understood. Knowing your partner’s sensitivities, and their relationship needs is essential to meeting these needs and rebuilding the relationship.

b. Address mental health vulnerabilitiesMental health, and difficulties with emotion regulation in particular, can contribute to an individual’s vulnerability to infidelity. Similar to eating, spending money, and gambling, sex is a behavior that provides distraction; it is something new, and thus, temporary emotional

relief. If mental health is a factor, it is important that the couple creates an agreed on plan as to how to address any future declines in emotional functioning early (e.g. visit to family physician, medications, therapy).

The process of recovering as a couple after an affair is an emotionally demanding process, with lots of places for couples to get stuck. Having a therapist moderate the difficult conversations that need to happen, and to guide you in the process of reconnection, can be helpful. A therapist trained in Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples will also clarify the needs of each partner during the process, and going forward, reduce the risk of future infidelity and bring you emotionally closer to one another.

FI was working in my offi ce one day when Mr. Jones rushed in unannounced in a frenzy. After calming him down, he told me that

his mother, brother and father had died. I told him again to slow down and explain what happened. He told me that six months ago his mother died. However, on Sunday his brother died and two days later, on Tuesday, his father died. After asking how he was doing, I asked him what was in his brother’s estate and his father’s estate. He told me that he had no idea about his father’s estate because they had been estranged for several years, but that his brother owned a town-house worth approximately $350,000 mortgage-free. I then asked him whether his brother was married or had children; he said that his brother had no spouse or children, that he was the only surviving relative of his brother, and that he stood to inherit the town-house.

Then I asked him whether his brother had a will and, if he did, what was written in it. Mr. Jones said as far as he knew the brother had no will but it didn’t matter because Mr. Jones was now the only living relative. I then asked the same question about his father. Mr. Jones said that his father did have a will, leaving everything to the despised common law wife. But Mr. Jones didn’t

The most frequent question I get asked as a Wills and Estates lawyer is “why do I need a will?” I answer that everyone should have a will to retain control over how your estate is distributed upon your death, as opposed to government legislation dictating who inherits. The following true story clearly illustrates why everyone should have their will.

WHY YOU

Need a Will

care about her, as he was only concerned about his brother’s town-house.

After assessing the situation, I told my client that unfortunately the law spoke differently. I explained that under the Ontario Succession Law Reform Act, when a person dies without a will, the order of inheritance under the legislation is spouse, children, parents, siblings. In Mr. Jones’ brother’s case, he died without a will with no spouse and no children. Therefore, next in line were his parents. As the mother died six months prior, her estate received nothing. However, because the father lived two days after the brother died, the father’s estate took the brother’s entire estate. But further, because the father had a will leaving his entire estate to the despised common law wife, in effect the common law wife inherited the brother’s estate. When my client heard this, he went ballistic because he believed he should have inherited his brother’s entire estate, including the town-house, as he was the only surviving blood relative.

In the end, we negotiated an amicable settlement with the lawyer for the common law wife, probated the brother’s estate naming my client as executor and sole benefi ciary. My client was extremely

unexpected circumstances arise that produce an unanticipated or disastrous outcome. It is better to protect yourself and your hard-earned wealth while you live than have your loved ones face problems after you die.

fortunate that the end result was in his favor, but it didn’t have to end that way. The common law wife could have denied my client everything, and taken both estates for herself, leaving my client with nothing.

Therefore, to avoid potential disastrous outcomes with estates, not to mention unnecessary stress for your loved ones, do your will and estate plan immediately so that you retain control over who inherits your estate after you die. Sometimes

What is chronic busyness? It is the tendency we have to go through life at a break-neck pace, where every square on our calendar is full, if not overlapping. A calendar which, by the way, we no longer just have on our wall at home or at the offi ce, we have with us on our tablets and smartphones because we need to steal quick glances at it while we’re on the go, and we also need reminders from our electronic calendar because we are so busy that we can’t remember all the things with which we have busied ourselves! This type of busyness is not just at a particular time of year or in a certain season, it’s the fast-forward pace at which we can get sucked into living each day of our lives. We take on more and more and juggle roles and duties in an impressive display. Sometimes our busyness feels energizing, productive and perhaps even a little satisfying, but when it becomes chronic, (as for so many in our culture it has) a different experience ensues…

What’s so bad about it? Chronic busyness creates within us a weariness deep within us that even a little extra sleep doesn’t alleviate. It also gets in the way of self-care and healthy living, and of our awareness of our own and others’ feelings (leading us to be both unreasonably hard on ourselves and unempathic

towards others). Furthermore, our minds are divided and distracted; we can’t be fully present in anything because we are striving to do everything (which impacts both our enjoyment of life and our ability to acknowledge, and therefore cope with, diffi culties that arise). Research in many fi elds advises us that chronic busyness is not sustainable without some very negative side effects: emotional, physical and/or spiritual burnout is the ultimate result.

What’s at the core? Often when we are chronically busy and then attempt to slow down, we feel ill at ease and restless. This is somewhat due to the materialistic myth that more is better (and we cannot get more when we are sitting still). But our discomfort with rest is also because simply slowing down won’t cure what our busyness was covering up: a sense that we must work to be worthy, succeed to be suffi cient, accomplish to be adored; we are often over-busy because we long for love and acceptance. Our identity is wrapped up in our performance, instead of being grounded in what most of us would fundamentally agree with in our heads but struggle to feel in our hearts: we have innate value and signifi cance.

What can “cure” it? We need to renew our focus on our values and spend time working towards the integration of those values into our hearts (rather than keeping them all in our heads). When we learn to approach each day from a place of secure identity, self-esteem and worth, we will release the stranglehold of performance-based living and feel a sense of relief. We will then be able to choose our activities more wisely and invest both ourselves and our time in a manner that brings more enduring satisfaction.

Cleaning Tile GroutMake a paste out of baking soda and water. Cover the grout lines with the paste, then spray with a half-and-half solution of vinegar and warm water. Once the mixture stops foaming, scrub with a brush and rinse with plain water. Do not use near marble or other soft stone surfaces since vinegar is acidic and could cause corrosive etching.

Cleaning Stains on Wood Cutting BoardsSprinkle the cutting board with coarse salt. Using half a lemon, scour the surface with the cut side down, squeezing slightly to release the lemon juice.

Next time you are faced with some of the cleaning challenges below, look no further than your fridge or pantry for everyday items found in your home.

Cleaning TipsWITH EVERYDAY ITEMS FROM YOUR LOCAL EXPERTS AT MAID RIGHT

Let sit for fi ve minutes, then scrape the dirty liquid into a small bowl and discard. Rinse cutting board with a clean wet sponge.

Cleaning Fans and BlindsTo remove dust and animal hair from free standing fans or blinds, use a dryer sheet. It not only removes dust and hair fast, but after prolonged use it can create a protective coating for even easier dust removal. Given their static reduction capabilities, dryer sheets are also great for dusting television and computer screens.

Exposed Aggregate Concrete• Exposed aggregate concrete can almost be compared to a piece of granite or marble transformed by

polishing: A plain, unremarkable surface that has been stripped away to reveal the exceptional beauty lying beneath. In the case of concrete, that beauty is in the form of decorative aggregate.

• The basic procedures are simple enough for experienced finishers to master easily.

• The surface is rugged, nonskid, and resistant to heavy traffic and weather extremes.

• Many types and sizes of decorative aggregate are available to achieve unlimited color and texture variations.

• Exposed aggregate is highly versatile and contrasts beautifully with plain concrete or other decorative treatments such as stamping, stenciling, staining, and integral coloring.

• Little maintenance is required, other than sealing and occasional cleaning.

Stamped Concrete• Stamped concrete is concrete that is patterned and/or textured or embossed to resemble brick, slate,

flagstone, stone, tile, wood, and various other patterns and textures. Stamped concrete is commonly used for patios, sidewalks, driveways, pool decks, and interior flooring.

• Stamped concrete is an ever-growing popular choice due to the fact that it can be made to mimic higher end materials such as brick and stone pavers at a fraction of those products' cost.

• Stamped concrete may be simple to clean and requires no maintenance to retain its patterned appearance.

• Over time, other surface materials such as pavers can become loose or settle, resulting in tripping hazards. Stamped concrete's advantage is that it never needs resetting or replacing.

• Your initial investment in stamped concrete is only part of the total equation. Concrete lasts longer than other materials, is durable in nearly every type of environment, and holds up better to traffic and wear.

• Stamped concrete requires minimal maintenance than most other paving materials which can add up to big savings over the surface's lifetime. Read more about stamped concrete maintenance.

• Stamped concrete adds instant curb appeal and aesthetic value to a property. You can maximize the return on your investment by choosing stamped concrete over plain concrete.

I believe that each of us is endowed with gifts and are able to heal oneself, as well as assist with another’s respective healing process. “Gifts” may be anything from offering comforting words, to the safe laying on of hands, or being vulnerable and sharing personal experiences that help others to fi nd strength and heal.

request a 30-minute session, but then quickly changed her mind and asked for a full hour. I believe she knew intuitively what she needed. Many spiritual teachers and zen masters teach; that the answers we seek all lie within ourselves. I believe this too, fi rst with each life experience and second, with consistent faith and trust in my own intuition. We just need to learn ways to quiet the mind to hear the answers.

I’ve witnessed many clients experience an energy shift and an emotional release as a result of the energy work during and after a Reiki session. Emotional releases have also been evident during and after physical manipulation such as massage, refl exology, as well as detoxifi cation using IonCleanse® and regression therapy. Albeit having seen it before, it is always humbling for me when a client is suddenly

overcome with emotion and tears; tears are energy and cellular memory released.

As one of many hands-on energy therapies, I like to describe Reiki as a warm ray of sunshine. The energy is gentle, comforting, loving and nurturing. It is able to affect a person physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. The giver of Reiki is open to allowing life force energy to fl ow through them, to the recipient, who is open and willing to receive that life force.

Reiki is able to accelerate healing, assist the body of cleansing and releasing toxins, to balance the fl ow of subtle energy (etheric bodies) by releasing blockages and enables the client to connect with creator source and with their own healer within. Anyone may learn to tap into the unlimited supply of ‘life force energy’ and to improve health and enhance the quality of life by learning Reiki. This may be for themselves or for sharing with their loved ones, even pets, by receiving treatments from a Reiki practitioner or master.

Last year, Abby was headed home from her fl ight training session where she was doing various controlled procedures such as steep turns,

stalls, spiral dives at approx 8,000 feet. Ironically, during her drive home, she lost control on black ice and unfortunately T-boned into oncoming traffi c. Abby spent weeks recovering from this accident. One year later, her husband lays in bed at the Juravinski Hospital recovering from his bone marrow transplant. The reality of how short life can be has hit home for this couple.

COVER STORY

Abby Khalid and Peter Batchelour have always believed in the Latin aphorism carpe diem. Never taking a single day for granted, they live life to the fullest without any regrets. Most of us want the courage to live like this because we know the truth behind another old saying: “life is short.” No one understands this better than Abby and Peter.

Abby and Peter met while working in the United Kingdom, it wasn’t long before Peter knew he wanted to marry Abby. So he approached her parents for their consent in asking for her hand in marriage with their blessing and then surprised her with an engagement in Paris, they then married in the U.K. The couple were both equally excited to get to the adventure they call life and were eager to start a family. Unfortunately, this did not come easily, in 2009, after IVF treatment, they were expecting twins, sadly Abby miscarried at

just over 3 months. In 2010, doctors found a benign ovarian cyst. Later that year, Abby became pregnant with twins again and miscarried one of the twins, just shy of four months. Zain their son (the other twin) was born in 2011. In 2012 there was more heartbreak whereby Abby miscarried a set of twins once again. Hence, they call Zain their 6 million dollar baby.

Abby has been coming to Canada every year/couple of years since 2000, she holds her private pilots licence and has completed her Commercial Pilots licence and the goal was to one day become a fl ight instructor. “I have always had a love affair with Canada, and always knew I would end up here!” The couple started the immigration process in order to move to Canada in 2007. After fi ve years of waiting for an approval, with no decision from the immigration offi ce, Abby and Peter decided to go all out and spend a large sum in coming to Canada for a three week vacation. Abby fi gured this immigration issue was never going to resolve itself. Five days after they returned to England from their trip, the letter came with the approval. With Immigration giving them seven weeks

to leave for Canada. Somehow, they managed to sell their assets and organise agents and a removal company to take care of what needed to be transferred. Then off they went to Canada with seven pieces of luggage.

Once in Milton, Abby stayed at home with Zain and in between her continued fl ight training towards becoming a Flight Instructor, she also started volunteering her photography skills at Zain’s preschool, as well as for Halton Railway Museum, and for friends. She has also involved herself in various fundraisers in town, through her training in Zumba. She loved Zumba so much that she decided to take 3 licenses in 2 days! She now has 5 licences in Zumba. Abby has worked closely with her friend, mentor and fellow Zumba instructor Terri Naccarato in fundraising initiatives to benefi t juvenile diabetes, as well as several cancer foundations.

At the end of August, after a dream road trip out to the west coast with Zain, Peter came down with what they thought was the fl u. On the 18th of September, after a trip

and admission into the Milton District Hospital, many tests, and a transfer to Oakville, they were told that Peter has Acute Myeloid Leukemia which is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Abby recalls her fi rst reaction: “ I wanted to smash the chair through a window in the hospital room. My friends and family tried to console me by telling me stories of people they knew who have had Cancer in one form or another. All I could think of was, “I don’t care about them! Why me? Why us? The love of my life, the man I live for, has it!” Peter was transferred that following Saturday to the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton. Abby remembers feeling overwhelmed with the most trivial things: “I didn’t even know how to get to Juravinski!” She still experiences anxiety about driving as a result of her car accident. Once at Juravinski, Peter was started on chemotherapy immediately. Soon after, he contracted a fungal infection to his face as a result of a low immune system, which required surgery. The surgery involved shaving some bone off from his cheek and eye socket area, and his nose. Abby recalls worrying about Zain being frightened by the way his daddy would look, so she decided to buy Peter a “pirate’s eye patch” on his birthday and Peter could “play pirate” for Zain during his visits.

The couple has been experiencing much fi nancial strain since Peter’s diagnosis. His position was performance based, therefore his income is very limited. In addition to dealing with Peter’s condition, Abby has been faced with the responsibility of making ends meet on a fraction of the salary that they have been accustomed to. She shares, “I have had to put my mortgage payments on hold for three months, because I simply can not make them.” Back in the late fall of 2015, community members and friends organized a fundraiser at Shoeless Joe’s in order to help with added expenses such as parking, and gas to and from the hospital. Abby gratefully admits, “It was a huge help! When you are in crisis this way, you will know

from day one who will be there for you.” Abby was in shock the day she received an envelope with a generous monetary gift from a member of the aviation community, she decided the most fi tting way to spend this money was to install winter tires on her car. “I fi gured, this way, this beautiful soul who donated this would be with my family everywhere we went.”

Currently, Peter is waiting to have a Hickman line inserted from his neck through to his heart in order to administer

his treatment medication more effectively. His turbo boost chemotherapy will be started soon after and he is then scheduled for his bone marrow transplant. Both of Peter’s brothers are a match for his bone marrow transplant, the middle brother is the best match, the transplant took place a couple of days before Valentine’s Day. In a perfect world, life should resume back to normal. However, this is a long recovery process as Peter has lost so much muscle mass and his immune system is practically non-existent which it needs to be to receive the new bone marrow.

When a family is faced with circumstances such as a health crisis, there is always a lesson to be learned. “I live my life for today. I prepare for tomorrow, but I do not know what it will bring, so I live for the moment and to the fullest.” When asked about the one lesson she has learned in all of this, she pauses and as a tear falls, she replies, “Remain humble, because in life, it does not matter what you have or own. If you do not have your health, all the things that you do have are meaningless.”

On behalf of Family Matters in Milton, I urge all families, regardless of faith, to send healing prayers and vibes to this beautiful family. I encourage you all to live life to the fullest, everyday. In Abby’s words, “Stay Humble, and Carpe Diem!”

“I live my life for today. I prepare for tomorrow, but

I do not know what it will bring, so I live for the moment and to

the fullest.”

Making the brave choice to change your paint colour and decorating palate can be daunting; here are some tips to help you in doing so.

The key to good design is repetition of colour. This holds true when mixing metals and woods, as well. If you are unsure what colour will work in your space, take inspiration from the elements within your home. Pull a colour from your counter, back-splash or favourite artwork. Often times the perfect colour is already in your home, you just have to fi nd it.

Always check a colour in your space and your lighting. Colour can change so drastically depending

on lighting and existing elements in your home. Just because the colour looks fabulous in your best friend’s home, doesn’t mean it will look fabulous in yours. Bring it to your space, look at it with your fl ooring, counter top, carpet etc. This will help you to ensure the colour works well in your space.

Don’t test the colour directly on your wall. When looking at potential colour candidates I highly recommend you

roll a wet paint sample on a large piece of Bristol board instead of your wall. Often times the existing wall colour throws us off and we don’t get a true sense of the colour. Using a piece of Bristol board allows you to move the colour around your home which will assist you in choosing your colour with confi dence.

Neutral doesn’t mean boring. Many people feel the need to paint a different colour in each room of their home to add personality. Often times this makes the space look disjointed and busy. Try painting one soothing colour on the walls of an open concept space and paint your side tables a vibrant accent colour like Venezuelan sea from Benjamin Moore 2054-30. Carry some more of that teal through your space with pillows and fun table accents, and voila, your personality is alive and well in your home.

Wallpaper has always been in. Wallpaper is more popular and beautiful than ever. Don’t be afraid to introduce wallpaper to your space to add design and detail. From traditional and classic to bold and graphic, wallpaper adds instant design and fl air. As long as you prep the walls properly and follow application instructions, wallpaper can be fairly simple to put up and take down.

When in doubt call an expert to put it up for you. Whether it’s fl oral, geometric or classic damask, wallpaper in any hue can transform a room to from drab to fab.

Don’t be afraid to go dark and dramatic. While current colour trends are going towards whites and pastels, keep in mind that it’s not the colour that makes your space light or dark, it’s your lighting. If you feel your space is dark, often the best solution is to update your lighting. Add a beautiful light fi xture with ample wattage to shed light on your home. Darker tones add warmth and drama to a space; the key is to ensure you have contrast with other elements in your space such as furniture, moldings and accents.

When in doubt call an expert. So many clients know what they like, but have trouble pin-pointing the correct hue. Making an open concept space fl ow from room to room can be a challenge. A trained colour expert knows how to accomplish the result you are seeking, whether you are painting a room, remodeling a space, or looking to improve your home’s curb appeal.

Have summer road trips been hard on your car?Drop off your dirty vehicle and pick it up clean!

Often parents are able to effectively help their children with “every day” concerns related to social, school or family-related stressors. However, at other times parents recognize that their child’s challenge seems unusual, particularly when the problem, a) disrupts your child’s normal functioning, b) interferes with normal family functioning (even though the child is not upset by this circumstance), c) is complicated and beyond the range of normal daily experience, and/or d) is not resolved within a reasonable time-frame. In these situations, it may be best to see a psychologist who can assess and provide recommendations, which may include psychological treatment.

Mental health problems have replaced physical problems in the top five disabilities affecting children (1). The

prognosis improves the sooner the mental health issue is diagnosed and treated. Psychologists can play a key role in helping your child and family deal with warning signs such as (but not limited to):

• Delays in speech, language, or toilet training• Problems with attention and learning• Excessive anger and acting out• Intense or unusual fearfulness (anxiety)• Sadness, tearfulness, or depression• Social withdrawal or isolation• Bullying • Unusual or bizarre behaviours • Hyperactivity• Decreased interest in previously enjoyed

activities

• Frequent physical complaints (e.g., stomach aches, especially when medical concerns have been ruled out)

• Repetitive behaviours (e.g., hair pulling, skin picking, nail biting)

• Substance use• Problems with transitions (following

separation, divorce, or relocation)• Refusal to go to school• Sudden changes in appetite and /or sleep • Self-destructive behaviours (e.g., cutting,

head banging)• Talking about death and dying

Such symptoms on this list could be situational (e.g., a child that is tired may have difficulty concentrating until they have rested). However, when prolonged, these symptoms are strong indicators that there may be an underlying

problem that may benefit from psychological intervention.

There are four main reasons why psychologists are highly effective for helping children and adolescents with mental health problems (2):

1. Psychologists are trained in evidence-based interventions and can treat a wide variety of mental health disorders using individual, family and parenting interventions.

2. Many parents and children are more open to using therapy over medication for treating mental health challenges.

3. Psychologists are trained to conduct specialized (e.g., psychoeducational) assessments that provide essential information about a child’s strengths and weaknesses, including their learning and attention profi les.

4. Psychology services help to prevent behavioural problems through parent-based training.

Before visiting a psychologist, gather more information by talking to your child’s teachers and caregivers. Discussing your concerns with your child’s family doctor or pediatrician can help to rule out medical reasons for the symptoms. The doctor may also be able to refer you to a registered psychologist who could provide further assessment and/or treatment services.
