A visit to RAYADURGAM Government School

In the year 2015, students from Delhi Public School, Hyderabad participated in the Emily Emanuel Basketball tournament. Both the girls and boys team had bagged the Runners up position and were awarded a cash price of Rs.13,000 /-in total. These students, along with their coach decided to use this money to purchase Cricket bats, balls and other sports equipment to donate to the students of the Rayadurgam Government School.

A gesture worth appreciated !

The next step to this drive was to hand over these provisions to various orphanages and old age homes. Six institutions were identified, namely, Mahima Ministries, Ameenpur, JMJ SnehaSadan, Miyapur, ShirdiSai Old Age Home, Madinaguda, Anuraag Human Services, Tolichowki, Radha Krishna BalikaBhavan, Nanal Nagar and Kinnera Welfare Society, Mehdipatnam. All the provisions that were collected were segregated into six parts and then distributed to all these institutions on 30th December, 2016. The members of the Interact Club interacted with the less privileged orphans and the neglected veterans. The children were pained to see that there were so many children who didn’t have anyone, but were happy about the fact that there was someone for them who is taking care of their needs, both material and emotional. It was a learning experience for them to see that in spite of being unwanted, they were happy about the little things that they were getting.

God loves those who find joy in giving

An event filled with fun, laughter and togetherness and bound by the sweet memories made in those twenty four hours ,Congregare,2016 was an event which will not be forgotten by students anytime soon.To pick out a single highlight from this would be an impossible task, say the students. The students gathered on a chilly Saturday morning, eager and bright eyed, ready to embark on the trip to Lahari Resorts..At Lahari, right from cricket and football to water games and rain dance, the students did it all.Back at school, the students were treated to yet another round of snacks after which they played a few games ….amodeling show where models were dressed up in outfits made using only crepe paper, newspapers and pins and a version of musical chairs. Then came what competes for the spot of the most memorable part which would be the DJ.The energy quotient was at maximum and students jumped and danced their way through an array of songs.A relaxing end to all the energy expelled during the DJ,the band was also a huge hit.Not to forget the screening of the blockbuster hit Bahubali, which enthralled students with many of them even repeating the dialogues later on to identify with situations.

...And thus we come to an end of an action packed year and a joyous turnover to a new calendar!

R I P to our beloved teacher

The year 2016 also had a very sad news in store. Our school‘s founder teacher Ms. Ch. Kiran breathed her last on the morning of 18th December 2016. It is said life is too ironic too understand. The entire school was shocked to know about the sudden demise of the beloved member of DPS family.

Kiran ma’am! You have given life to others after you have left us! The bell tolls in gratitude for you!

May your soul rest in peace.

We'd be back in just 4 weeks; till then, adios!!
