In 2018 is het juist 450 jaar geleden dat de graven van Egmont en Horn onthoofd werden. Zij leefden en stierven op een scharnierpunt van onze geschiedenis, toen het Middeleeuwse maatschappijmodel, gedomineerd door adel en clerus, verenigd in feodaliteit en katholicisme, grote veranderingen doormaakte. De rol van de adel werd uitgehold, de alleenheerschappij van Rome ging verloren, de maatschappelijke structuren werden dooreengeschud. Zekerheden smolten als sneeuw voor de zon.

Deze problematiek is nu nog, 450 jaar later, brandend actueel. Politieke partijen verliezen hun grip op de kiezer, populisme en terrorisme zorgen voor onzekerheid...

Maar één zekerheid overleeft de tand des tijds : een goed glas helpt de problemen te verwerken. Daarom werd ter gelegenheid van het Egmont/Horn jaar 2018 dit bierpakket samengesteld

En 2018 il y a exactement 450 ans que les comtes d’Egmont et Horn furent décapités. Ils vivaient et mouraient dans une époque de changements, où le modèle de la société médiévale, dominée par le clergé et la noblesse et uni dans la féodalité et le catholicisme, subit de grands changements. Le rôle de la noblesse fut érodé, le pouvoir absolu de Rome brisé, et les structures sociales secouées. Les certitudes fondaient comme la cire au soleil.

450 ans après, cette problématique est encore toujours très actuelle. Les partis politiques perdent le contrôle des électeurs, le populisme et le terrorisme causent de l’incertitude...

Mais une chose survit le temps: une bonne bière aide à surmonter les problèmes. Et pour cela ce paquet de bières a été composé à l’occasion de l’année commémorative Egmont/Horn 2018.

In 2018 it is exactly 450 years since the counts Egmont and Horn were beheaded. They lived and died in an era of change, when the model of medieval society, dominated by clergy and nobility, and unified in feudality and Catholicism, underwent tremendous changes. The position of the nobility eroded, the absolute supremacy of Rome was broken, and the social structures shaken. Certainties melted away like snow under the sun.

450 years later, the subject is still very actual. Political parties lose control over the voters, populism and terrorism cause uncertainty...

Yet one thing survived al turmoil : a good beer helps to overcome all problems. That’s why this package of beers was assembled at the occasion of the commemorative year 2018.

LamoralD’Egmont – Brouwerij Van Den Bossche Sint-Lievens-Esse – ABV : 8% - tripel, licht goudblond met een lichte pareling, helder tot licht gesluierd, hergisting in de fles.

Lamoral – Brasserie Van Den Bossche Sint-Lievens-Esse – Alc. 8%, triple, légèrement dorée et à douce perle, claire mais légèrement troublée, seconde fermentation sur bouteille.

Werthabier “De Montmorency” – De Brouwschuur Weert – ABV : 6,5% - amberkleurig, volbloed moutig, koppige speciaalpils.De Montmorency van WERTHA is gebrouwen in opdracht van De Aldenborgh. De opbrengst van dit brouwsel met ‘historisch koppig’ karakter gaat via Stichting Wertha Bier naar goede doelen in Weert.

Bière Wertha «De Montmorency» – De Brouwschuur Weert -Alc. 6,5% - bière ambre riche en malt, pils spéciale très tétu.De Montmonrency WERTHA est brassée pour la « Stichting De Aldenborgh ». Les revenus de ce brassin à caractère historiquement tétu sont attribués à des bienfaisances à Weert, par l’intermédiaire de la « Stichting Werhta Bier ».

Wertha Beer “De Montmorency” – De Brouwschuur Weert – 6,5% vol., amber, very malty beer, a stubborn Special Pils.De Montmorency WERTHA was brew for the “Stichting De Aldenborgh”. The revenue of the beer goes to social work in Weert, through the initiative of the “Stichting Wertha Bier”.

1568 – De Hoevebrouwers Zottegem – ABV : 4% - blond bier, licht maar smaakvol, hergisting in de fles

1568 – De Hoevebrouwers Zottegem – Alc : 4% - bière blonde, légère mais riche en gout, seconde fermentation en bouteille.

Alva – Bles Zottegem – ABV : 6,8% - Rood bier, licht roze schuim, bitterige afdronk, hergisting in de fles

Alva – Bles Zottegem – Alc 6,8% - Bière rouge, à la mousse légèrement rosée, persistance amère, seconde fermentation en bouteille.
