General description

GeneralThis product is designed for outdoor location and is intended for refrigerants that arenot aggressive in contact with copper. The product is provided with axial fans and thecasing is made of aluminium sheeting as standard.

ImportantDo not allow the product to be covered by foreign objects when in operation.Unobstructed circulation of air is necessary to achieve the highest cooling efficiency.The laminar surfaces of the coil must be free of deposits.

Receiving and fittingThe product is subjected to thorough inspection of quality and function before leavingthe factory. If faults or damage due to transportation are detected on the product, thetransporter and point of sale is to be contacted without delay.

Assembly1. Move the product to the place ofinstallation before removing the packing.The cooler is provided with eyebolts (A)and shall only be lifted using theseaccording to instructions on the coolerand the directions for use.

2. The legs on are mounted in the trans-port mode during transportation. Theseare to be fitted for installation in the twoupper pairs of holes on the outermostpart.

3. Bolt the product through the pre-drilledmounting holes to a firm base.

InstallationThe following instructions should be read together with the technical leaflet.

LocationPlace the product so that air can pass freely over the entire coil surface and if possibleso that the wind direction does not affect the evacuation air because re-circulationcould otherwise occur. This applies particularly to modelsthat have low revs.The product is to be mounted on a firm base and secured with foundation bolts.The frame of the product is provided with pre-drilled holes.

Tube installation for Condensor

The product is to be filled with the amountand type of refrigerant stated by the installa-tion engineer. The connecting tubes arelocated on one end of the unit.

The hot-gas inlet is connected to tube (1).The liquid outlet is connected to tube (2).

Tube installation for Dry Cooler

The product is to be filled with the amountand type of heat transfer medium stated bythe installation engineer. The connectingtubes are located on one end of the unit.

The air vent is at the highest point of themanifold tube (1).The incoming lead is connected to tube (2).The return lead is connected to tube (3).The drain (4) is located at the bottom of themanifold tube.

InstallationInstallations may only be made byauthorised persons and in accordancewith national standards.The cooler may not be connected toother voltage or frequency than itsrated data.

Connecting the fan

To be connected to the safety switch asfollows:Loosen the screws (1) with a screwdriverand remove the cover (2). Connect thecable through the screw fitting (3) on theside of the cover.

N.B. Ensure that the fan rotates in thedirection indicated by the arrow.

Setting the motor protectorThe maximum current valu e at -30ºCis indicated on the rating plate. Referto the diagram for dimensioning ofover-current protection at otherambient temperature. The over-current protection should have anadjustment range of +/- 20%.

Preventive maintenanceWarning. Make certain that the powersupply is disconnected.

StandstillDuring long periods when the unit is notin operation the fans should be run at leasttwice a month. They are to be run untilthe motor reaches normal workingtemperature, ie, about 15 minutes.

Changing the fanDisconnect the electric terminals in thejunction box for the fan (1).Remove the bolts (2) (4 off) and washersand take off the fan (3).

Mounting the fanFit the bolts (2) and washers in the fourholes.Observe that there is a tagged washerbetween the casing and the fan grille.Upright modelFit the bolts (2) and washers loosely inthe two upper holes. Then fit the lowerbolts and tighten them.

Preventive maintenance Warning. Make certain that the power supply is disconnected.

Cleaning the cooling battery

1. Cooling batteries that are lightly soiledcan be cleaned by brushing and blowingwith compressed air.

2. Then wash the battery with water andenvironment-friendly detergent that doesnot corrode aluminium or copper.Ammoniac may not be used.

3. Rinse and allow to dry.

Caution

Always wear protective gloves whencleaning or when in contact with thebatteries.
