Luncheon Keynote Address - Meet the New ChiefWednesday, November 20Chief Douglas Parker “Cal OSHA’s Role in Protecting Farm Worker Health & Safety”Douglas Parker is the recently appointed Chief of the Division of Occupational Safety and Health at the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency. Parker has been executive director of Worksafe since 2016 and was deputy assistant secretary of labor at the Mine Safety and Health Administration at the U.S. Department of Labor. He also served as policy advisor and special assistant at the U.S. Department of Labor, was a partner at Mooney, Green, Baker & Saindon and served as a staff attorney at the United Mine Workers of America.

Dr. Phillip Martin is Professor Emeritus of the UC Davis Agricultural and Resource Economics. He is the Chair of the UC Comparative Immigration & Integration program and editor Migration News and Rural Migration News. Dr. Martin has done extensive research and authored many books and articles on farm labor and migration issues.
