Number of reporting sites per week

During week 13, twenty four (24) reporting sites (eight refugee camps,eleven Internally Displaced People’s (IDP) camps and five mobile clinics)submitted timely weekly EWARN reports.

During week 13, the number of consultations increased by 2,611, from10,257 in week-12 to 12,868 (male=4,866 and female=5,391). The highestnumber of consultations this week (n=1454) was reported WHO partnerIOM from Essian IDP camp.

An alert of suspected Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) was reported by IOM mobile clinic in Sulaymaniyah. The case was a 5 year old male from Kifiy. The alert wasimmediately investigated and responded to by the DoH, WHO and IOM.Stool samples were collected and shipped to National Laboratory in Baghdad and were they tested to be negative.

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI), skin disease (SKN) and Acute Diarrhea(AD) remain the leading causes of morbidity during this week with 5,377689 and 252 cases respectively reported from all the camps reporting to EWARN.

The proportion of AD remains steady ranging between 2% to 4%(week 13=2%) of total consultations. SKN diseases trend remained constantfrom week 2-13 (week 13=5%). ARI proportion shows a high but steadycaseload since week 13 (w12=42% and w13=42%)

The below graph indicates the proportion of cases of ARI, SKN Infection andAD for week 13. According to the data generated by EWARNs, itindicates that ARI proportion of total cases is the highest in most campsfollowed by SKN infections and then by acute diarrhea. The graph indicatesthat the Domiz refugee camp has the highest proportion of skin infectionscases followed by Baharka IDP camp and then by Qushtapa refugee camp.
