THINK Academy for Gifted & Talented StudentsThe THINK Academy for Gifted and Talented Students is a time for young people to test out their interest level in a topic. Students will immerse themselves full time for an extended period in areas such as chess, technology, culinary, music, math, art, science, theater, engineering, choir, robotics, STEAM, cheer & dance.

Eligibility: All 1st – 5th grade identified Gifted and Talented (GT) students (as of spring 2019) or Talent Pool (TP) students (identified in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school year).Contact: Advanced Academics & Guidance Services Department (956) 289-2300 ext. 2048

STEAM Summer Enrichment AcademyThe ECISD Summer Enrichment Academy for students will focus on the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Students will have the opportunity to spend a week experiencing quality hands-on STEAM activities using different learning strategies to engage their multiple senses.Eligibility: Students must have been enrolled in ECISD the previous year.Contact: Science Department (956) 289-2300 ext. 2041

High School Academies Accelerated Geometry, Accelerated Algebra II, Accelerated Pre-Calculus, Accelerated Chemistry, Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Academy, Robotics I, Math Independent Studies/Engineering, PSAT/ACT Academy and Dual Enrollment Courses at STC

Eligibility: Students must have successfully completed Algebra I, met performance standard on Algebra I STAAR EOC exam, and must have written recommendation from the current mathematics teacher and/or approval from administration. CTE Summer Enrichment ProgramThe Career and Technical Education Summer Enrichment Program will provide students with the academic and technical skills, knowledge and training necessary for them to explore career opportunities. These career awareness programs will give students the knowledge needed to make an informed choice of the career path they wish to pursue.

Texas ACE Summer ProgramSchool sites will engage in academic programming such as accelerated tutoring, robotics, math camps, and other related activities through our partners.

Eligibility: Texas ACE students that have been enrolled in the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 program in the 10 campuses (Memorial MS, Barrientes MS, Harwell MS, Zavala Elementary, Monte Cristo Elementary, San Carlos Elementary, Eisenhower Elementary, JFK Elementary, Villarreal Elementary, and Avila Elementary).Contact: Texas ACE Department (956) 289-2300 ext. 2163

Athletic Skills CampThe Athletic Skills Camp addresses sports specific skills to enhance student performance in volleyball, bowling, basketball, and track & field.

Extended School Year ProgramSensory learning for students attending Extended School Year Services (ESY) Enhance learning by bringing closure to the day’s activities through sensory integration. ESY will address IEP objectives where students have shown regression.

Camp For The Visually ImpairedCamp for the Visually Impaired helps students integrate daily living skills with the expanded core curriculum.

Middle School Academies - 7th Grade Introduction to Algebra IThis camp will help expose students to 7th grade mathematics content with a goal to have more students successfully complete the Algebra I EOC.

Eligibility: Students who earn a 93% or a recommended Raw Score of 849 (Master Level) or above on the 6th grade 2019 STAAR Mathematics assessment and/or Teacher recommendation.Contact: Middle School Area Director Department (956) 289-2300 ext. 2038

Athletics Summer Camps Open Gym, Weight Room, Tennis, Track and Four Clinics, including Volleyball, Basketball, Softball and Baseball. Summer Rec. at all four high schools during the month of June with open gyms, track, tennis and weight rooms. Four free clinics (one week each) will be offered at each of the four high schools, participants will receive a free t-shirt.

Fine Arts - Elementary Robotics CampThe Sumobot Challenge: Robotic Camps will be offered to elementary students to provide instruction aimed to promote learning in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math using robotics as a tool to motivate students to learn.

Eligibility: Students who are currently members of the elementary robotics club (1st -5th grade) and students who would like to learn more about robotics.Contact: Fine Arts Department (956) 289-2317

Fine Arts - Summer Theater IntensiveLook At Me... I’m On Stage: Students from ALL FOUR ECISD theater high schools will be encouraged and provided with the opportunity to participate in master workshops to include acting technique, costuming, theatrical movement, dance, and technical theater.

Eligibility: Each theater, choir and dance teacher will select students (in 2019 productions) to learn from professionals in the field.Contact: Fine Arts Department (956) 289-2317

Middle School Academies - 8th GradeIntroduction to Algebra I and English I Bridge Camp This camp will serve as a basis for instructional development of Algebra I and English I content.
