ground.
Both the root part of the beet and the leafy
greens can be eaten. The leafy greens are
typically called swiss chard.

One of them being the golden beet this
looks exactly as it sounds. When it is cut open,
its golden yellow color is revealed.
There are also candy cane this been is ruby
red in color.
Lasty, there are some that have red and white
stripes.

Recipe Roasted beets with goat cheese
Ingredients:
10 beats
15 oz goat cheese
1 head of garlic 2 tablespoons fresh thyme
Directions:
Beets
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cover beets in olive oil.
Wrap beets individually in aluminum foil.
Put beats onto an oven sheet and bake for 30-35 min.
Let cool and peel the skin off.
Cut into bite size pieces.
Goat cheese and Garlic
Raise oven temperature to 400 degrees.
Cut the tops of the garlic head so that the tops of the garlic cloves are revealed.
Drizzle olive oil over it.
Wrap in foil.
Put it onto a sheet pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. Squeeze out the garlic cloves from their skin into the goat cheese.
Sprinkle in fresh, chopped thyme and salt and pepper for flavor.
Stir until well incorporated
Whole Grain Bread
Slice bread into thin slices.
Coat with olive oil
Put slices onto a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for about 5 minutes.
Spread goat cheese mixture onto the whole wheat bread slices and top with a couple slices of beats and enjoy!

What This Has Taught Me
I have learned how to maintain a healthy diet.
Now I am able to determine which foods arebetter to consume than others due to theirnutritional values.
I am now also able to set up my own perfectpersonal diet needed to stay healthy.
Before this, I had never looked at my food ornutritional intake.
This was a great opportunity to do so and a greatexperience doing it.
