On admission. the patient wa, dyspnoeic and I1narse. with oropharyngeal oedema and tracheal s.tridor. Although ventilation was decreased. the lungs were otherwise clear, Treatment with SC adrenaline lepinephrine) and IV diphenhydramine and h~'drocortis()ne brought rapid and un~ventful recovery.
