Project: To make people aware of e-waste and its disposal in appropriate manner as this is an important topic and there is lack of awareness amongst people which was concluded in the initial survey . “During the collection drive when

we asked to bring non-working gadgets, some students of the lower classes brought fully functioning gadgets as they got hold of the wrong end of the stick. Explaining those students was a difficult part for us. When we interviewed rag pickers they gave a cold response. They thought we are wasting their time. “

Outcome: Interviewed people, and concluded that many people did not know what is e-waste and they were the ones who had introduced it to them through various means. Also, gave them the numbers of authorized collectors.

Project: Reduction in garbage by implementing 3R`s in my school.. Surveyed quantity and types of waste and interviewed non-teaching staff. Implemented waste management strategies like segregation of waste, compost pit, no polythene zone, eco-gifting etc.

Outcome: Earlier 3 feet two dustbins were fully filled by garbage. Now, only one dustbin is filled one-fourth. Students use cloth bags made out of old clothes. Made the school polythene free zone. After 4 months we have started using manures of our compost pit. GARBAGE has been USED & REDUCED

“Even if 10 % of my school members have been aware regarding waste management and 10% families in my housing society, it will surely help in saving our mother Earth. This 10% is a big start of today for saving tomorrow for me. Today it is 10% and tomorrow it will be 100 % ”

Project: "The Ghats of Varanasi“. The project is about the ghats of Varanasi and Mother Ganga.The project aims to make people aware and help clean the ghats.

Outcome: After the project ended the scenario of ghat has become cleaner and the authority is taking good care of it. Dustbins made up of bamboo are placed on the ghatsso that the garbage may get confined and not litterd everywhere. .

“In the beginning it was hard to convince people and authorities to join and take initiative because people thought that they cannot do anything alone and authorities were not interested. Media people were not ready to print anything and I was really feeling demotivated but slowly when I and my team alone started sweeping and doing signature campaign, telling people by touching there religious thinking and when I won YuvaSampadak competition organized by DainikJagran things came on track”

Project: Study the effects of E-waste in human being and environment and the methods of disposing E-waste in Pilcode, Panchayath ward no 3 ,Kasaragoddistrict. Conducted surveys and interviews with doctors and scrap collecting agent.

Outcome: Findings of the study: E-waste increases in houses, Institution. Even though people knew about E-waste, they were unaware its bad effect in the environment. The main source of E-waste are Emergency lamp, TV, CFL, Mobile phone, Radio and Electronic toys. Lab experiments shows that the soil in the place of E-waste dump contains chemicals like mercury, cadmium, lead

Project: “Water scarcity: one villain who will change the world badly” Campaign consisted of several methods of communication including student interactions and need based water saving strategies.

Outcome: Wastage of water reduced from 1520 litres to 545 litres after the campaign

“Measurement of impact showed us our work’s result. For this from the starting we made decided to do a research based study of doing before and after survey which showed us result of our activities. Outcome: A positive impact on the Papanasini Pond. The water quaility has improved in one month. After Swachha Bharat Abhijaan Bindusagar people hand temple administration have taken measures to clean the pond water.

Outcome: One thing our project did accomplish, was the identification of some problems related to water in our school. We did not stop only at identification. We went on to report these findings to the school management, and ensured that these problems were looked onto, and also fixed. On conducting the survey, we found that people coordinated with us, and also answered very honestly, to the best of their ability. “
