In het overzicht hieronder vindt u ons advies voor het lesgeven met Wider World NL in uw segment, vmbo tl/gl leerjaar 3. De verplichte leerstof moet u in z’n geheel behandelen, ook wanneer u weinig contacturen heeft met uw leerlingen. Met twee lesuren in de week kunt u al de basisstof van Wider World NL Level 2 afronden. Heeft u meer klassikale lestijd beschikbaar, dan kunt u uitbreiden naar de optionele inhoud.Voor het vmbo tl/gl leerjaar 3 traject adviseren om vooral de verdiepende content te behandelen. U kunt hieruit een selectie maken al naar gelang de tijd die u beschikbaar heeft. Op deze manier werken uw leerlingen op het juiste niveau, vooruitkijkend naar de CEFR eindeisen voor Engels voor vmbo gl/tl. Er zijn ook onderdelen die u goed voor thuisstudie of zelfstandig werken kunt inzetten. Het workbook of digitale workbook - MyEnglishLab - is ingericht voor leerlingen om volledig zelfstandig uit te kunnen werken. Wat betreft de stof uit het student’s book kunt u de Grammar Time en Unit Revision goed zelfstandig laten verwerken. Al deze content is overwegend
remediërend, maar ook belangrijk om voldoende herhaling en zodanig internalisering van de content te bereiken. Zoekt u nog meer aanvulling op de stof uit het student’s book en workbook/MyEnglishLab, dan kunt u nog de zogeheette photocopiables inzetten (te vinden op de ActiveTeach software). Dit is voornamelijk verdiepende content. Wanneer u aan een combinatiegroep les geeft, adviseren wij om ten allen tijde het boek en traject voor het segment met het hoogste opleidingsniveau in te zetten. Op deze manier zullen leerlingen die doorstromen naar het hogere segment geen hiaten hebben in hun kennis en vaardigheden. Leerlingen die afzakken naar het lagere opleidingsniveau zullen mogelijkerwijs een jaar vanuit hetzelfde boek werken, maar zij werken dan wel altijd een ander traject af. Op deze manier bereiken we voor deze groep de herhaling en het lagere CEFR niveau dat zij nodig hebben, zonder dat ze exact dezelfde content aangeboden krijgen.
