Wekelijks bulletin Week 12/2017: De incidentie van consultaties voor griepale syndromen daalt verder tot op het basisni-veau. De peilpraktijken verzamelden 1 respiratoir staal, dat negatief bleek voor influenza. De incidentie van consultaties voor acute luchtweginfecties stijgt.

Bulletin hebdomadaire Semaine 12/2017: Le taux de consultations pour syndromes grippaux diminue de nouveau jusqu’au niveau de base. Les médecins vigies ont récolté 1 échantillon respiratoire, qui était négatif pour influenza. Le taux de consultations pour infections respiratoires aiguës augmente. La vaccination contre la grippe est recommandée pour les personnes à risque et le personnel de santé. In geval van acute luchtweginfectie enkel antibiotica gebruiken indien nodig. Antibiotica hebben geen zin bij griep, ver-

En cas d’infection respiratoire aiguë, n’utiliser les antibiotiques qu’en cas de nécessité. Les antibiotiques sont ineffi-caces contre la grippe, la bronchite et le rhume. (www.usagecorrectantibiotique.be)

Het aantal gediagnosticeerde gevallen van influenza daalt. Dit seizoen werden in totaal 6090 bevestigde gevallen van influ-
enza geregistreerd door de peillaboratoria (94% influenza A, 2% influenza B en 4% niet
getypeerd).
Le nombre de cas diagnosti-qués d’influenza diminue. Cette
saison au total 6090 cas dia-gnostiqués de influenza ont été enregistrés par les laboratoires vigies (94% influenza A, 2% in-

De voorlopig resultaten van de-ze surveillance tonen dat
Het aantal ziekenhuisopna-mes omwille van een ernsti-ge acute luchtweginfecties hoog was dit seizoen
De fractie patiënten onder de opgenomen grieppatiën-ten met ernstige complica-ties1 was vergelijkbaar met de vorige seizoenen.
De sterfte onder de opge-nomen grieppatiënten was ook vergelijkbaar met de vorige seizoenen.
Les résultats préliminaires de cette surveillance montrent que :
Le nombre d’hospitalisations en raison d’une infections respiratoires aiguës sévère était élevé cette saison.
Le pourcentage de patients hospitalisés à cause d’une grippe qui avaient des complications sévères2 était comparable avec les saisons précédents.
La mortalité entre ces pa-tients hospitalisés à cause d’une grippe était aussi comparable avec les saisons précédents.
The preliminary results of this surveillance show that:
The number of hospitaliza-tions due to a severe acute respiratory infection was high this season.
The percentage of hospital-ized flu patients that had severe complications3 was comparable to the previous seasons.
Mortality among the hospi-talized flu patients was also comparable to the previous seasons.

In de eerste zeven weken van
2017 (02/01/2017 – 19/02/2017) werd significante oversterfte ge-observeerd in de Belgische bevol-
king van 65 jaar en ouder. De oversterfte was vooral uitgespro-ken bij hoogbejaarden van 85 jaar
en ouder.
Dans les sept premières semaines de 2017 (12/01/2017 –
19/02/2017), nous avons observé de la surmortalité significative
dans la population belge de 65 ans et plus, et plus particulièrement
chez les personnes âgées de 85 et plus.
In the first 7 weeks of 2017 (02/01/2017 – 19/02/2017), we observed significant excess mor-tality in the Belgian population
aged 65 years and older, and most notably in the age group 85 years
and older.
