Wekelijks bulletin Week 11/2017: De incidentie van consultaties voor griepale syndromen daalt verder onder de epidemi-sche drempel. De peilpraktijken verzamelden 4 respiratoire stalen. Een staal was positief voor influenza A(H3N2). De incidentie van consultaties voor acute luchtweginfecties daalt.

Bulletin hebdomadaire Semaine 11/2017: Le taux de consultations pour syndromes grippaux diminue en dessous du seuil épidé-mique. Les médecins vigies ont récolté 4 échantillons respiratoires. Un échantillon était positif pour influenza A(H3N2). Le taux de consultations pour infections respiratoires aiguës diminue. La vaccination contre la grippe est recommandée pour les personnes à risque et le personnel de santé. In geval van acute luchtweginfectie enkel antibiotica gebruiken indien nodig. Antibiotica hebben geen zin bij griep, ver-

Het aantal gediagnosticeerde gevallen van influenza daalt. Dit seizoen werden in totaal 5657 bevestigde gevallen van influ-

enza geregistreerd door de peillaboratoria (95% influenza A, 2% influenza B en 3% niet

getypeerd).

Le nombre de cas diagnosti-qués d’influenza diminue. Cette

saison au total 5657 cas dia-gnostiqués de influenza ont été enregistrés par les laboratoires vigies (95% influenza A, 2% in-

fluenza B et 3% non typé).

The number of diagnosed cases of influenza decreases. This

season in total 5657 confirmed cases of influenza were regis-

tered by the sentinel laborato-ries (95% influenza A, 2% influ-

Er werden iets meer ernstige infecties1 geobserveerd bij oudere patiënten met risico-factoren dan in de seizoenen met minder circulatie van de A(H3N2) stam.

Nous avons observé un peu plus d’infections sévères2 chez les patients plus âgées ayant des facteurs de risque pas rapport aux saisons avec moins de circulation de influenza A(H3N2).

We observed slightly more severe infections3 in older patients who have risk fac-tors than in seasons with less influenza A(H3N2) circula-tion.

In de eerste zeven weken van

2017 (02/01/2017 – 19/02/2017) werd significante oversterfte ge-observeerd in de Belgische bevol-

king van 65 jaar en ouder. De oversterfte is vooral uitgesproken bij hoogbejaarden van 85 jaar en

ouder.

Dans les sept premières semaines de 2017 (12/01/2017 –

19/02/2017), nous avons observé de la surmortalité significative

dans la population belge de 65 ans et plus, et plus particulièrement

chez les personnes âgées de 85 et plus.

In the first 7 weeks of 2017 (02/01/2017 – 19/02/2017), we observed significant excess mor-tality in the Belgian population

aged 65 years and older, and most notably in the age group 85 years

and older.
