OVERZICHT WEEK 18

In de afgelopen week daalde de to-tale incidentie van raadplegingen voor griepaal syndroom naar 89 raadplegingen per 100.000 inwo-ners (inclusief telefonische raadple-gingen). De incidentie bleef stabiel of daalde in alle gewesten en leef-tijdsgroepen. In de week van 27 april tot 3 mei 2020 was slechts 1 luchtwegstaal beschikbaar voor een test op SARS-CoV-2. Dit staal was negatief. Tussen 16 maart en 19 april 2020 (week 12-16) werden er 6600 extra sterfgevallen door alle oorzaken (waaronder 304 extra sterfgevallen in de leeftijdsgroep 15-64 jaar, 2861 extra sterfgevallen in de leeftijds-groep 65-84 jaar en 3440 extra sterfgevallen in de leeftijdsgroep >= 85 jaar) waargenomen ten opzichte van wat op basis van de laatste 5 jaar wordt verwacht.Deze over-sterfte voor de weken 14, 15 en 16 bedraagt respectievelijk 81%, 95% en 71%.

La semaine passée, l’incidence de consultations chez le médecin géné-raliste pour syndrome grippal a dimi-nué vers 89 consultations pour 100.000 habitants (consultations té-léphoniques inclus). L’incidence res-tait stable ou diminuait dans toutes les régions et tous les groupes d’âge. Durant la semaine du 27 avril au 3 mai 2020, seulement un échantillon respiratoire était disponible pour tester. Cet échantillon était négatif pour SARS-CoV-2. Entre le 16 mars et le 19 avril 2020 (semaines 12 à 16), nous observons 6600 décès toutes causes supplé-mentaires (dont 304 décès supplé-mentaires chez les 15-64 ans, 2861 décès supplémentaires chez les 65-84 ans et 3440 décès supplémen-taires chez les plus de 85 ans) par rapport à ce qui était attendu sur base des 5 dernières années. Ces excès de mortalité pour les se-maines 14, 15 et 16 atteignent 81%, 95% et 71% respectivement.

Last week, the incidence of visits to the general practitioner (including contacts by phone) for influenza like illness decreased to 89 contacts per 100,000 inhabitants. The incidence remained stable or decreased in all regions and age groups. In the week of April 27 to May 3 2020, only 1 respiratory sample was available for testing. The sample was negative for SARS-CoV-2. Between March 16th and April 19th 2020 (weeks 12-16), 6600 addi-tional deaths due to all causes were observed (including 304 additional deaths in the 15-64y age group, 2861 additional deaths in the 65-84y age group and 3440 additional deaths in the age group over 85 years) compared to what is ex-pected on the basis of the last 5 years. The excess mortality for weeks 14, 15 and 16 equals 81%, 95% and 71% respectively.

De surveillance vond plaats van week 2 tot week 16. Het aantal ziekenhuisopnames voor griep met bepaalde ernstige compli-caties zoals ARDS (acuut ademha-lingsfalen) was in het begin van de epidemie iets hoger in vergelijking met voorgaande jaren. Verder waren er geen aanwijzingen voor een ver-hoogde ernst deze winter. Onder de positieve tests was 93% po-sitief voor influenza A (66% A(H1N1), 31% A(H3N2) en 3% A niet subtyped) en 7% positief voor influenza B (100% B| Victoria, 0% B| Yamagata en 0% B geen lijn).

Le nombre d’hospitalisations pour grippe avec certaines complications sévères telles que l’ARDS (insuffi-sance respiratoire aigue) était au dé-but de l’épidémie légèrement plus élevé que les années précédentes. Sinon, il n’y avait aucune indication d’une sévérité accrue cet hiver. Parmi les tests positifs, 93 % étaient positifs pour l’influenza A (66 % A (H1N1), 31 % A (H3N2) et 3 % A non sous-typés) et 7 % positifs pour la grippe B (100 % B Victoria, 0 % B Ya-magata et 0% B sans lignée).

The surveillance ran from week 2 to week 16. The number of hospital admissions for flu with certain severe complica-tions such as ARDS (acute respiratory failure) was at the start of the epi-demic slightly higher compared to previous years. Otherwise there were no indications of increased se-verity this winter. Among the positive tests, 93% were positive for influenza A (66% A(H1N1), 31% A(H3N2) and 3% A not subtyped) and 7% positive for influ-enza B (100% B|Victoria, 0% B|Yam-agata and 0% B no lineage).

Het aantal influenza infecties gedi-agnosticeerd door de peillaborato-ria is terug op het basisniveau. Het aantal bevestigde diagnoses was laag dit jaar. Onder de griepdiagno-ses deze winter waren er 80% posi-tief voor influenza A, 9% voor influ-enza B en 11% waren niet gety-peerd.
