Henk Kars afscheid genomen als hoogleraar aan de Vrije Universiteit, een positie die hij sinds 1994 bekleedde. Ter gelegenheid hiervan biedt de Vrije Universiteit hem op donderdag 1 oktober 2015 een afscheidssymposium aan. Tevens zal er op 2 oktober een Masterclass Geo and Bioarchaeology van Prof. Dr. Matthew Collins (University of York) en Professor Dr. Kerstin Lidén (University of Stock- holm) & CLUE + Lecture van Prof. dr. Mark Pollard (University of Oxford) worden georganiseerd. Beide dagen vinden plaats op de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Henk Kars' wetenschappelijke carrière heeft in het teken gestaan van interdisciplinair onderzoek in de archeologie. Het thema van het symposi- um, "Interdisciplinarity between Humanities and Science", is daar een afspiegeling van. The theme of the symposium, "Interdisciplinarity between Humanities and Science", reflects Henk's scientific interest in various aspects of the archaeological subdiscipline of archaeometry. We therefore cordially invite you to attend the Farewell Symposium, the Masterclass and/or the CLUE + Lecture.
