PROFILE:- A Project Director, Multi-disciplinary Architectural Project and Construction Team Leader of 30+ years’ experience with the most recent 17 years being in the UAE. Hands on abilities in design, construction, production, programming and resourcing of projects from concept through to construction on site and completion; backed by a sound depth of technical knowledge and financial skills. Excellent interpersonal skills in forming good professional relationships with all personnel and multi-disciplinary project teams, as well as with Clients. Projects Manager for all MZA projects Responsible for the Project Management of all projects in design and under construction as well as coordination of all internal and external disciplines as well as all commercial and contract matters. Projects mainly comprise of Mixed use development Erbil, Iraq comprising of 1 x 30 and 6 x 22 storey towers over a 55,000m2 site containing Luxury Hotel, Offices and Residential as well associated facilities – construction value US$800 million. Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary school for 4,500 students on Yas Island – construction value US$100million. Residential Development – Al Raha Beach construction value US$70 million. AEDAS Singapore (2011 to 2012)

South Beach Development I joined Aedas Singapore to project manage and conclude the detail design stage and bring together, working with 25 architects, the technical aspects of this large mixed used development project comprising of North Tower of 60,00m

2, South Tower comprising of 33,00m

2 Residential and Hotel of 45,000m

2 together with Podium Retail of

12,00m2 and 3 levels of basement and connection to the MRT Station. Construction value approx.US$750 million.

GODWIN AUSTEN JOHNSON, Dubai, UAE (2003 to 2004 & 2008 to 2011)

Project Director for 7 Star Private Hotel in Tripoli, Libya Project Director on site running this entire US$400 million Design and Build project comprising of 100 VIP suites. Managing over 1,000 directly employed construction workers, all subcontractors and suppliers as well as the in house Architectural, Structural, MEP, QS, Procurement, Planning and ID design teams in addition to the in house Construction Management teams. Reporting to the CEO, preparing and presenting reports to the Government. Resident Engineer for all GAJ projects on site Engineer of Record on various Architectural and Interior Design Projects Private Farmhouse in the Desert (Near Bab Al Shams) Resident Engineer and design coordinator from the commencement of the design and construction to completion and occupation of the Villa in 4 months. Working closely with the construction team on site. Desert Resort Hotel in Abu Dhabi Leading a team of 6 architects and sub-consultants, developing the sketch concept into working drawings Arabian Ranches Golf Clubhouse, Dubai, UAE (2003–2004) Multi discipline project leader of a 2 storey multi use recreational and residential golf club house with full F & B outlets from commencement of production drawings, DM approval, tender and commencement on site.

B+G+6 Residential Building, Dubai Marina, Dubai, UAE (2003-2004) Multi discipline project leader from commencement of production drawings, DM & Emaar approval to tender. B+G+6 Office Building, Al Barsha, Dubai, UAE (2003-2004) Multi discipline project leader from concept to, Dubai Municipality approval, and site supervision. AEDAS Dubai, UAE (2006 to 2008) Being the 3

rd person to join this international architectural practice I took on the role of Practice Manager and

Projects Director and grew the office to 75 strong over the course of 2 years along with developing the business and providing overall leadership on all projects as well as directly running several mega projects:- U-Bora Towers, Business Bay, Dubai I led the multidisciplinary team and sub-consultants to developing the very early concept of this 120,000m2, 52 storey office tower and 17 storey residential tower containing 225 apartments from concept design through to Building Permit approval and supervision on site. Construction cost approx. US$250 million Pentominium, Dubai Marina, Dubai This is a super tall, top end luxury, residential tower, rising to 516 meters having an area of 165,000m

2 and

comprising of 172 five bedroomed super luxury penthouses. It is scheduled to be the tallest solely residential building in the world. I lead and project managed the multidisciplinary design team on this project from conception through to Building Permits and onto site. Value US$450 million. Damac Heights, Dubai Marina, Dubai This is a 420m high residential tower containing 645 residential units over 85 storeys. I lead the multidisciplinary team from basic concept to DM planning approval.

HOLFORD ASSOCIATES, Dubai, UAE (2004 to 2006) I joined this 100 + strong architectural practice as multi discipline design and project leader to lead key projects and provide an experienced technical overview to the design and production drawing process. Deira City Centre Major Redevelopment and Refurbishment, Dubai Multi-discipline Design Team Leader, Design Coordinator and Engineer of Record with a team of 16 Architects plus other disciplines. Design and supervision of the works on site, all whilst keeping a live mall fully operational. Construction value US$55 million. Magic Planet, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai, Leading a multi discipline team and Resident Engineer developing the concept design of a flagship Magic Planet over an area of 10,000m

2 through construction and completion on site. Construction value approx. US$20 million.

Liberty House, DIFC, Dubai Concept design of a 44 storey residential and office use tower through to public launch for sale and submission for and approval by the DIFC Authority. Construction value approx. US$125 million

ΛTKINS Epsom UK (1995 to 2002), ΛTKINS Heathrow, UK (1995 to 1998), ΛTKINS Dubai (1998 to 1999) I joined Atkins in 1995 due to my technical ability to specifically develop and complete the detailed design of the British Airways World Cargo centre at Heathrow, UK. This developed, in a 3 year period, British Airways World Cargo Centre, Heathrow Airport, UK Senior Resident Site Architect, Project Manager & Design Team Leader. A fully automated, state of the art, air cargo facility handling 1 million tons of airfreight per year. Building size 100m x 300m x 35m high. Managing the production of all drawing packages and reviewing sub contractor’s drawings. Senior on Site Architect for two years, though to practical completion. Specialised knowledge of radar absorbing cladding, and the radar environment at airports. Construction value US$400 million. Burj Al Arab, Dubai, UAE Multi-discipline Design / Construction Manager, closing out design issues, leading and preparing strategy for snagging and closing out of contracts to achieve practical completion of this, 321m high, ultra luxury, hotel. Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai, UAE Multi-discipline Design / Construction Manager, Closing out all outstanding contracts and defects post practical completion on this 600 bed, 25 storey, 5 star luxury hotel complex. Wild Waddi Water Park, Dubai, UAE Senior Designer, completing the detail design stage and on site design solutions to achieve practical completion and opening of the Water Park STEPHEN MARSDEN ASSOCIATES, Esher, UK (1983 to 1995) Principal in private practice of up to 5 employees engaged in luxury private house refurbishments, interior design of haute couture fashion shops, school conversion into luxury flats, new offices and interior space planning.

INTERESTS I am a scuba diver since 1988 and am a long standing member of the Desert Sports Diving Club in Dubai. I also enjoy trekking and exploring the mountains and rivers of SE Asia and off road exploring in the mountains and deserts of the UAE and Oman. I like most things adventurous and challenging!
