The aim is to provide the operator with some quick help anda memory aid especially for commands that are usedinfrequently or to offer a quick reference on variousparameters.

The MMC 100.2 and MMC 103 provide a range of key andsoftkey assignments which have the same function in alloperating areas and menus.

Area changeover:

Switch back from anymenu to the main menu ofyour control.

Softkeys:

Horizontal softkeys:These keys subdivide eachoperating area into furthermenu levels. Each horizontalmenu item has a verticalmenu bar/softkeyassignment.

Vertical softkeys:Assigned with functions forthe currently selectedhorizontal softkeys.

Navigation in the directory tree:

Select directory/file:Position the cursor on thedesired directory/file.

Open/close directory:Open or close the selecteddirectory.

Open file:Open the desired file, e.g. ifyou want to edit the file in theASCII editor (in this case theeditor is openedautomatically).

Select file (MMC103):Select the desired file.

Select several files(MMC103):Hold down the "Shift" and"Cursor Down" keys.

Select start of block.

Neighboring files are selectedwhen you hold down the"Cursor Up" or "Cursor Down"keys.

Deselect selected files.

Cancel all selections.

Edit inputs/values:

If you want to editinputs/values, thecorresponding key is alwaysdisplayed automatically onthe right of the input field. Thefollowing input fields areavailable:

1. Option fields (radiobuttons or check boxes):Activate or deactivate theoption field.

2. Input fields:Switch to input mode.

Enter the value or word (e.g.file name, type, etc.) on thenumeric keypad.

You automatically switch toinput mode if you first positionthe cursor on the input field.

Always confirm your inputwith the "Input" key. Thevalue is accepted.

You can use the "Toggle" keyto select one of severaldefault values.

3. Selection list (MMC 103):Display the preselection ofpossible values.

Open selection list

Position the cursor on thedesired values.

Always confirm your inputwith the "Input" key. Thevalue is accepted.

Switch to the next value in theselection list withoutdisplaying the entire list.

Confirm/cancel input:

OKConfirm input:Save the inputs and exit thecurrent menu (youautomatically return to thecalling menu).

CancelCancel input:Reject the inputs and quit thecurrent menu (youautomatically return to thecalling menu).

Reject the inputs and quit thecurrent menu (youautomatically move up onelevel).

Clear the current input butremain in the current menu.

If you have installed a mouse,operation is facilitated asfollows:

1 "click" 1 click means:• Activate the menu window.• Position the cursor on the

desired input field.• Select directory.• Activate softkey.• Activate/deactivate radio

Caution:Position the axes if they are not already located at a safeposition.Always follow the axis movements directly on the machine.Ignore the actual value display as long as the axes are notreferenced (the software limit switches are not effective).

Please note:The calculation of the offset always refers to the currentworkpiece coordinate system (WCS).
