The Israeli Experience:Societal Resilience and

Emergency Management One or Two Day Seminars

Leveraging Israeli Experience for a More Resilient Society

Page 2: Seminarbrief2015pub

Background• Due to the region in which it resides, Israel has been forced to prepare for and deal with

both natural as well as man-made disasters.

• Over the past two decades, since the founding of the Home Front Command (HFC)

within the Israeli military (IDF), Israel has developed a robust doctrine for Emergency

Management and Societal Resilience that

has shown, preparedness for war is also preparedness

for natural and other man-made disasters.

Page 3: Seminarbrief2015pub

Background- continued• This doctrine has been forged through numerous conflicts as well as natural disasters

effecting the State of Israel.

• In addition to real world events in Israel, Israeli Humanitarian Assistance Missions

throughout the world have been hailed as cutting edge responses, responding quickly

and efficiently, often far from Israeli shores in record setting time.

• EM-SME has gathered Israeli subject matter experts with real world experience in order

to offer Israeli best practices to interested parties around the world
