Grant-funded Project Consumer Health Information

• The Alliance Library System (ALS) is pleased to

announce that the National Library of

Medicine/Greater Midwest Region has awarded

ALS a $40,000 grant to provide consumer health

information services in the virtual world of Second

Life.

• ALS is working on the project in partnership with the

University of Illinois Library of the Health

Sciences-Peoria,

Central Medical Library, Unversity Medical

Center Groningen (UMCG) in the Netherlands,.

and TAP Information Services.

Niet iedereen wil of kan…..

Over het samenwerken in SL of andere innovatieve projecten zijn er twee soorten mensen:

1. “those who look through technology...and are streching themselves out to touch the goal and

2. those who want it NOW...and go bah..without even living and breathing in virtual environments, understand and see thru...the little glitches”


“It's the first ones that will decide how far developments will go in virtual environments like Second Life.

Expect technologists with the right mind set are going to "run the world" and the rest will follow”

landelijk kan!• Maar internationaal, wereldwijd ligt

meer voor de hand• Locatie is wel degelijk belangrijk!• Extra dimensie aan communicatie

(o.a. chat&IM tegelijk )• Vrijwillig karakter & afspraken


En toch!
