GIVING ALL
Trusting widows play a significant role in this week-end’s readings. At the point of poverty, when giving even the smallest amount of what they had could imperil their health and well-being, they trusted God and gave anyway. What is important about their giving is not what or how much they gave, but how they gave it. Without selfishness, they gave to help others. Their giving was from the heart, with little hope or intention of receiving any sort of reward or recognition for their generosity. The monetary values of the widows’ gifts were small, but their value measured in the Kingdom was priceless. There is a significant similarity between their gift and the gift Jesus gave each of us. The widows offered their lives for God. Jesus offered his life for us. © Copyright, J. S. Paluch Co.

SAINTS AND SPECIAL OBSERVANCES Sunday: Thirty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time Monday: The Dedication of the Lateran Basilica Tuesday: St. Leo the Great Wednesday: St. Martin of Tours; Veterans Day Thursday: St. Josaphat Friday: St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Saturday: Blessed Virgin Mary
It’s that time of year again and time to rev up for the Holidays. The Choir Mass at 10pm is beautifully served by our adult Choir who not only provide music for the 10pm Mass but also performs beautiful Christmas anthems written through-
out the ages as a 30 minute concert/prelude to what is a favorite time for many people. Unfortunately the Family Mass at 5 pm has not been served so beautifully by music. This year we hope to change that. We will form a chil-dren’s choir, open to all children in both public and pri-vate school between the 4th and 8th grade. We need at least 10 children to make this work. Rehearsals will be held on Thursday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30pm starting Nov 12th. We also need at least 3 adult volunteers, prefer-ably parents, who can be at rehearsal, and supervise the children before and after rehearsal. Rehearsal will include not only Christmas music by also instruction in music, music history and so much more. It is hoped that this choir can become a permanent part of the music here at Sacred Heart. To sign up, please contact Don Roy at the Parish Office as soon as possible…. 428-6426.

In memory of our friend and faithful volunteer, Florence Holtz
Florence became a volunteer in June of 1994 and worked every week for 19 years until she retired in 2012. When we were in need of some extra help her
reply was: “Here I am Lord”. Her gentle voice and de-meanor was a blessing to our mothers, who just wanted someone to talk to, to really listen to them and most of all not to judge them. She helped thousands of mothers
and treated each as a beautiful creation of God. She saw many women who were considering abor-tion and she lovingly changed their hearts and minds to see that they could choose life for their baby. They of-ten would come in with tears and leave with smiles. Many babies have been born because of her love of God’s children and many women were spared a lifetime of regret. A month before she died we were blessed to be with her again as we celebrated her birthday and the birthday of another volunteer of 23 years, Diana Price. We had a great time, remembering funny stories, singing Happy Birthday, eating birthday cake and laughing. We give thanks to God for allowing us to have that one last time together with Florence. We will forever miss our Dear Friend whose dedica-tion and commitment to the Pregnancy Crisis Center was unsurpassed. The impact she made here, the lives she saved and the hearts she changed will be felt for many generations to come.
“Well done, my good & faithful servant”

The Living, Breathing Saint Museum & Exhibit
The lights were dimmed and the Sacred Heart Catholic School gym was transformed into a museum Friday, Octo-ber 30 in celebration of All Saints’ Day. The 2015 Saints’ Parade, Museum and Exhibit, hosted by Sacred Heart Catho-lic School, offered visitors of all ages a chance to learn about many Saints’ lives. Every class contributed a project such as posters, dioramas, life-sized paper doll Saints and even pumpkins decorated as Saints! During the school mass that day, the Saints’ Parade was the introduction to our celebration. Later in the day, the gym was transformed into a museum as “living statues” quickly became the highlight of the event. The 8th graders dressed up as Saints, such as St. Francis, Blessed Mother Teresa, and many others, while the 7th graders were dressed as the modern day saints from doctors to teach-ers, police officers, and many more ordinary people doing extraordinary things for others. I dressed up as a lawyer. My Dad is an attorney and he is a Saint in my eyes. He helps people every day. I enjoyed being able to act the part
of my favorite modern day Saint and rep-resenting my Dad. The living saints allowed the visitors to envision what the Saints looked like in their time, as well as learn more about each Saint as they walked along and read about each one. Not only did the students enjoy the museum, but many parents, grandpar-ents, and other visitors came to experience the transformed gymnasium into a living exhibit with live music to the tune of “When the Saints Go Marching In” courtesy of three 7th grade students. Many hours of preparation and effort were spent making the museum possible. Mrs. Bilodeau, Religion teacher of Sacred Heart has made this event one that many people look forward to attending every year. The efforts were well worth it, with young children and adults alike enjoying the museum, learning about the Saints and sharing in our faith as Catholics. CHANGES MADE TO SCHEDULES BEFORE MASSES AT ST. GERARD
Our rapidly changing times call for adjustments every now and then. The St. Gerard Leadership Committee studied the history behind the decision to have Benediction before Mass, and also considered the wishes of our pastor, Fr. Tom. We also took into considera-tion the common good and the feelings of some of our fellow parishioners on this issue. The decision was made to discontinue Benediction before Mass beginning on the
weekend of Saturday, November 14th/Sunday, November 15th. The recitation of the Rosary will continue, however, On Saturday it will begin at 4:00 pm and will end by 4:20 pm. On Sunday it will begin at 9:30 am and end at 9:50 am. To help us prepare for the celebration of the Eucharist there will be 10 minutes of perfect silence in the church fol-lowing the Rosary. Some people come early to spend time before the Blessed Sacrament in personal prayer. In a prayerful and silent atmosphere people will not only be able to speak to God but also listen to God speaking to them. If you feel that you must talk, please make it brief and in a low tone of voice. We sin-cerely hope that everyone will cooperate. We are also aware of the importance of socializing. It is appropriate to do so after the celebration of the Eucharist. In fact, we are encouraged to do so.

The unconditional choice for life reaches its full religious and mor-
al meaning when it flows from, is formed by and nourished by,
faith in Christ. Nothing helps us so much to face positively the
conflict between death and life in which we are engaged as faith in the Son of God who became man and dwelt among men so
“that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (Jn 10:10).
