an exceptional, prestigious and stylish office building dating from

1909, comprising a ground floor, 1st to 4th floor, lower ground

floor/basement and 10 parking spaces, located immediately along

the characteristic veerhaven, known locally as parklaan 2 |

veerhaven 2, 3016 bb rotterdam.

Scheepvaarthuis was designed by J.p. Stok and commissioned by

the van nievelt goudriaan & co Stoommaatschappij n.v. shipping

company. the entire building is in an excellent state of repair and

has been renovated several times, while retaining all its authentic

details and original period features.

the building’s interior is richly decorated with marble, wooden

panelling and trims and leaded glass windows, entirely keeping

with the style of the facade. because of the building’s location on

veerhaven it has a magnificent view of the veerhaven harbour and

the river maas.

Scheepvaarthuis, designed by the architect J.p. Stok, was built

in 1909 and commissioned by the successful shipping company

van nievelt goudriaan & co Stoommaatschappij n.v. in 1948

Scheepvaarthuis underwent an extensive renovation. it was

extended with a top floor and bored piles were installed in the

foundations. in 1988 the building was purchased by the then

Scheeps hypotheekbank, later nedship bank and currently dvb

bank. in 1993 the building was completely renovated under the

supervision of an architect. during this renovation the original

features were preserved and a new main entrance was created on

the parklaan side.
