My motivation:- Understand the demands and wishes of all involved stakeholders- Design products supported by system thinking.

We designers provide visualisation and prototypes as a way to com-municate ideas. We create iterations on those ideas, with those ideas we inspire other people. We test those ideas until we have created new and innovative products.

GhoatsGH²OATSSummaryGH2OAT is a social purpose company founded by three caring and ambitious industrial designers with one main goal: to make life just a little better for the people on this planet. Our starting point is a well-known problem: dramatic water poverty in Africa’s Sahel region. The scarcity of water has an enormous impact on the lives of local people. The GH2OAT Backpack, as the name implies, is a back-pack designed in the first place for use with goats. It allows them to carry basic necessities such as water over long distances and rough terrain. A herd of goats equipped with the backpack, can operate as a supply chain for the family’s daily water requirement. This liberates the people from executing the time-consuming and straining task of fetching water, thus allowing them to go to school.

Instead of just providing a finished product, we want to make sure that GH2OAT gives back to the region as much as possible. That’s why we opted to manufacture our product in local workshops and with local materials, providing ethical job opportunities and knowledge for the people, and helping the local economy in the process. Next to the GH2OAT Backpack, we created a line of fair trade products manufactured by the same workshops, with the same materials and techniques, but aimed specifically at the Western markets. These products will be sold in Fair Trade shops across Western Europe, providing a steady stream of revenue allow-ing us to keep the cost of the GH2OAT Backpack as low as possible.

The mobile chicken coop processes green waste and provides eggs for the involved locals who take care over the chickens. After each 3 months the coop can be changed of location freeing fertile ground ideal for gardening.

COOKIE AIDSummaryOlivier suffers from spasticity due to a shortage of air during labour. His spasticity makes it hard to perform fine motor skills. Olivier would like to be able to eat snacks on his own. When he watches television with his family there isn't much of a problem because his family mem-bers help him. But when he is alone at his desk he is not able to eat any kind of snack. Since he would really like that, he asked us to design a product that would help him do that.

The Cookie aid is a product made for Olivier with Olivier. We, three designers and an occupational therapist have searched for a solution for Olivier. We wanted to make a product so Olivier would be able to eat independently. The cookie aid is a container which can easily be filled. After being filled, Olivier can use it without help until it's empty. It is designed so it could be washed without disassembling it.
