Vocal Arts DC is proud to continue our distinguished history of presenting some of the world’s greatest singers in recital, along with a uniquely gifted newcomer of enormous potential. Our singers showcase their extraordinary voices through the medium of classical song, their artistry distilled to its purest essence as they share timeless emotions from many cultures. From Elizabethan ballads with lute accompaniment to Latin-American works, from traditional German Lieder to Korean songs, plus the Washington premiere of a newly commissioned piece by an acclaimed American composer and works by beloved French and italian masters, our series has all that a lover of classical singing could want. This variety ensures that, whether you are a longtime devotee of Vocal Arts DC, or a newcomer to this intimate art form, you are assured of a rewarding experience as a subscriber.

SuBSCRiPTiONS:

Full subscriptions to the series of seven recitals are priced at $287 each. it is also possible to order a “mini-subscription” containing a minimum of three recitals in the series, with each recital priced at $45 per ticket.

All concerts take place in the Terrace Theater at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, except for the recital by Lawrence Brownlee on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, which will be held in Lisner Auditorium at George Washington university.

Having catapulted to success since winning the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 2007, American tenor Michael Fabiano has gone from strength to strength at the Met, Milan’s La Scala, English National Opera, and San Francisco Opera, and made a notable recital debut last year as part of the prestigious Harriman-Jewell Series in Missouri. After capturing exceptional notices in the Met’s HD transmission of Otello opposite Renée Fleming this season, he will return to the Met in 2013-2014 for a new production of Die Fledermaus. Program to include works by Liszt, Duparc, and Tosti.

the Lindemann young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera at the beginning of the 2013-2014 season, following a summer with Wolf Trap Opera Company as a Filene young Artist. He will make his European debut with Glyndebourne Festival in 2014.

For the recital by Lawrence Brownlee on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, in Lisner Auditorium at George Washington university, Vocal Arts DC subscribers will be assured premium seating.

Single ticket orders received with subscriptions will be processed in the order received, after subscription orders have been filled, and will be filled with best seats available. After the subscription period, full subscribers may still purchase additional single tickets directly through Vocal Arts DC at a reduced rate of $41 per recital, and mini-subscribers may purchase them at $45 per recital (full cost to non-subscribers for these tickets is $50).
