DemeestemasteropleidingenzijnNederlandstaligeopleidingen.IneenaantalfaculteitenwordenookEngelstaligeopleidingenaangeboden.DetoelatingsvoorwaardenvoordeEngelstaligeoplei-dingenkunnenanderszijnvoorstudentenmeteenVlaamsdiplomadanvoorstudentenmeteenbuitenlandsdiploma.Eenstudentmeteenbuitenlandsdiplomadieeenmasteropleidingwilaanvatten,moetdeaanvraagprocedureopstartenomtoegelatenteworden(zieInformationforinternationaldegreestudents).

Hieronderwordtduidelijkwelkewegenjenaareenmasterdiplomabrengen.Vervolgenskrijgjeinformatieoveralternatievetrajecten(p.4),danwordendemeestgebruiktetermentoegelicht(p.5)entenslottemaaktdepraktischeinformatiejeconcreetwegwijs(p.6-7).

AlternatievetrajectenStudieomvangverminderingEenspecifiekbachelordiplomaisdebasisvoorwaardeom–rechtstreeksofonrechtstreeks–toegelatentewordentotdemasteropleiding(ziep.3).Eenschakel-ofvoorbereidingsprogrammageeftopeengestructureerdemaniervrijstellingenopbasisvandateerderbehaalddiploma.Jezultslechtsuitzonderlijknogbijkomendevrijstellingenkrijgen.Alsjediplomaechternietvermeldwordtopdelijstvantoegelatendiploma'skanjeookstudieom-vangverminderingindebacheloropleidingaanvragenviaindividuelevrijstellingen.Datkanopbasisvancreditbewijzen, eerder verworven kwalificaties (EVK) en eerder verworven competenties (EVC).

> EVKencreditbewijzenStudentendieoverspecifiekestudiebewijzenbeschikken,kunneneventueeleenvrijstellingverkrijgenvoorbepaaldevakken.Vrijstellingenmoetensteedsaangevraagdwordenbijdebetrokkenfaculteit.Dieprocedureisgratis.

FlexibelestudietrajectenAlsjejestudieswensttespreiden(bijvoorbeeldomdecombinatiemetwerkofgezinmogelijktemaken),danzijnereenaantalopties.Zokanjedeopleidingdeeltijdsvolgen(ongeveerdehelftvanhetnormalepakket)ofjekunteenpakketopmaatsamenstellen.Inhetlaatstegevalsprekenweovereengeïndividualiseerdtraject(GIT).EenGITwordtaltijdaangevraagdbijdebetrokkenfaculteit.Elkefaculteitheefteentrajectbegeleiderdiedeaanspreekpersoonenbegeleiderisvoordieprocedure.Decombinatiewerken/studerenisdusintheoriemogelijk.AlleopleidingenaandeUGentwordenindagonderwijsaangeboden.Dewerkstudentmoetduswerk-enstudieschemazogoedmogelijkopelkaarproberenaftestemmen.Studentendieminstens80urenpermaandtewerkgesteldzijnofeenzelfstandigeactiviteituitoefenen,kunnenhetwerkstudentenstatuutaanvragen.Defacul-teitenleggenineenfacultairreglementvastwelkefaciliteitenwordenverleendaandiestudenten.

AnderevervolgopleidingenNaasthetaanbodvanmasterswordeneraandeUGentnogeenaantalvervolgopleidingeningericht.Postgraduatenzijnopleidingendiequastructuurafwijkenvandemaster-na-masteropleidingen(bv.minderdan60studiepunten,maartochmeerdan20studiepunten,afwezigheidvaneenmasterproef…)ofopleidingendieeenberoepsvoorbereidendkarakterhebben.Naafloopvaneenpostgraduaatsopleidingkrijgjeeenpostgraduaatsgetuigschrift.Hetstudiegeldvarieertvanopleidingtotopleiding.Permanente vorming:alleopleidingsprogramma’sdienietleidentoteenformeeldiplomazijngebundeldonderdetermpermanentevorming.Dieprogramma’szijnzeeruiteenlopendquaomvangenduur.Ookdetoelatingsvoorwaardenzijnergverschillend,afhankelijkvandeopleiding.Eenopleidinguitdepermanentevormingkanbekroondwordenmeteengetuigschrift.Specifieke lerarenopleiding:deSLOleidttothetdiplomavanleraardatwordtuitgereiktnahetbehalenvanhetmasterdiploma.Hetdiplomageeftofficiëleonderwijsbevoegdheidvoorhetsecundaironderwijs,tweedeenderdegraad.Destudieomvangbedraagt60studiepunten,waarvan30sptheoretischcomponenten30sppraktijkcomponent.

CoursecontentHumanactivitiesinspaceplayaneverincreasingroleinoursociety.Spacemissionshaveevolvedfrommerelyshowcaseeventsthatexplorenewtechnologiesinnewenvironmentstoutilitarianoperationsthatservevariouspurposessuchastelecommunica-tionsaroundtheglobe,weatherpredictionoradvancedresearchinzerogravity.Inordertoillustratethis,theEuropeanSpaceAgency(ESA)hasestimatedthatonly5%ofthespacerelatedindustryisinvolvedwiththemanufactureandlaunchofsatellites!Therefore,spaceindustryhasgrownoverthepast50yearsfromahighprofilenicheactivitytoaneconomicallyverysignificantplayerinoursociety.Asaconsequence,itisalsoanimportantemployer.

Whereasintheearlyyearstheindustrytraineditsstaffonanadhocbasisinadevelopingandgrowingresearchenvironment,nowadaysnewemployeesenterawellestablishedtechnologicalandbusinessworld.Thisimpliesthatthespaceindustrypreferablyrecruitspeoplethatalreadyhaveacquiredthebasicskillsandknowledgethattheindustryitselfhasdevelopedoverthepastdecades.Thisisaconsiderablechallenge,sincethespaceindustryestimatesthatinthecomingyearsover40000peoplewhichbelongtothepioneergenerationwillretireandconsequentlywillhavetobereplacedbynewemployees.
