Lord MahaveerLord Mahavira was born into a royal

family in Bihar(India)in 599 B.C.Father’s name was King Siddhartha and

mother’s name was Trishala. Last twenty fourth Tirthankaras of JainsDuring pregnancy, Trishala was believed to

have had a number of auspicious dreams, all signifying the coming of a great soul.

At the age of 30, he left his family and royal household, gave up his worldly possessions,

including clothing and become a monk. Next twelve-a half year , he practiced intense

meditation and severe penance, after which he became Kevali~(omniscient)

Mahaira spent 42 monsoons of his ascetic life

Once Mahamuni Mahavira was meditating in the cremation ground of Ujjaini Nagari. A Rudra came there and started teasing Him in various ways but courageous Mahavira was not perturbed at all in His meditation. The Rudra was very much impressed by the courage and patience of Mahavira and after worshipping Him.

Mahavira travelled throughout in India to teach JAIN PHILOSOPHY

Always speak the truth. Control over oneself is very

important . There is no point accumulating loads

of wealth that you can’t ever spend. Follow the path of non- violence. Be compassionate towards living

being.

According to the Jnasena’sMahaperana,after the nirvan of Tirthankaras, heavenly being performed the funeral rights.According to the Pravachanasare only the nails and hair of tirthankaras are left behind the rest of the body dissolved in the air like Camphor. Today a Jain temple called JAL MANDIR in pawapuri stand at the place where Mahaveer attained moksha (liberation from the cycle of birth and death)at the age of 72. Moksh

SHRI MAHAVIRJIShri Mahavirji temple, also known as Atishya Kshetrah,is situated hindaun block in karauli district in Rajasthan. Bhagwan Mahaveer’s miraculous idol discovered from the earth 400 years ago from a hollow on the hill near the temple. The ancient idol of the nineteenth century, is serene, and beautiful.

Miracle storyA tanner’s cow did not give milk. On looking for the reason, it was found that the cow used to go and stand on a hill and all her milk oozed out. The tanner had various doubts but the could not know the reason. At last when digging was done on the hill, an idol appeared.Shri Amar Chand Bilala of Basawa (Jaipur) constructed a huge temple for worshipping the idol. It is said that during the excavation of the idol, many people tried to lift the idol, but failed to budge it. Later, the tanner had to be summoned to shift the idol from the hill to temple, who did it with ease. Since then, this temple has come to gain immense significance among the Jains.
