Reactions 1364 - 13 Aug 2011 O S Loperamide overdose Elevated pancreatic enzyme levels: case report A 17-year-old girl took an overdose of loperamide 18mg [route not stated] and trimebutine in the context of a familial conflict. She presented to the emergency department 2 hours later with mild epigastric pain. Three hours after the overdose, her lipase and amylase levels were 6417 and 758 UI/L, respectively. Within 30 hours, her lipase and amylase levels had normalised. Her abdominal pain persisted for several hours, then spontaneously resolved. She was discharged the day after admission. Lee HM, et al.
