The basic preference for a nurse or a painter can be translated into a much deeper and wider preference: “Helping other people” vs. “Doing something creative”. When you get a clear view of your interests, you narrow down the field of professions.

- It helps you get a clear view of your characteristics, behaviour and capacities.Example 1: your approaching traffic lights. When you’re almost there, the light turns to orange. What do you do? Do you put your foot down and drive on or do you hit the brakes and stop?Then: what can this mean for your study choice?

- Advertisements in school agenda’s As an advertising tool. A part of the study choice test is put into an advertisement in school agenda’s like the TMF agenda and the O’Neill agenda. You can finish the test and see the results on the website.

Key-elements of the workshop:- Working in groups to stimulate discussion- Stimulating students to think about their own interests- Different activities in different environments to look at interests from different angles- Guidance from a coach throughout the whole workshop

Different parts of the workshop:- Go into the city in groups of three. Make pictures of people working.- Belbin-test in visual way: what kind of working type are you? “Former”, “Caretaker”, “Groupworker” etc. - There is a stack of photos of professions laid out in the middle of the room. Individually choose two professions that are most appealing to you.- Make a drawing of your ideal workspace.- Role-play.

Main questions with each assignment: -What do you like about this profession? -Why did you choose this …? -Discuss about it with your teammates-What attracts you?
