    Eternal God,

We are truly grateful of the blessing that you have showered upon us.

Thank you for the gift of life, for the loving students, for the loving and caring family,

for the understanding and compassionate teachers, for the supportive principal and for

this wonderful day that we are about to share together with your guidance and

    protection.

Bless us all as we are about to deal a new lesson, new knowledge to inculcate, new

experiences to embrace, new ideas to share, new values to feed our morale, new

output of our painstaking labor to fulfill our satisfaction, new opinions to open up with

others, new camaraderie to develop and a lot more that we are humbly asking from your

most benevolent heart that grant simple requests into a sure reality.

Lord, Bless all schools that it may dynamically and competitively become a center for

sound learning, new discovery, and the pursuit of wisdom; and grant that those who

teach and those learn may find you to be the source of all truth and wisdom.

Lord, we ask forgiveness for all the sins that we have committed and we are sincerely

accepting your Holy Spirit to rule our hearts and minds so that we can avoid the

temptations and some forms of evil as we continue fulfilling our roles in this beautiful

world as children of God. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your son, who

lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever Amen.

  • 1. I believe that teaching is not a profession but a vocation, demanding dedication and

    a deep sense of commitment.

    2. I believe that I am a co-worker with God, in the divine task of molding and forming

the young and growing minds and hearts entrusted to my care.

    3. I believe that just as a lamp diffuses light, dispelling the surrounding darkness, so I

too, as a teacher, have to diffuse understanding, knowledge and love to my students

dispelling the darkness of ignorance and doubt.

    4. I believe that as a teacher molding children for the 21st century, I must dare to be

different in my methodology and approach, challenging their intelligence, stimulating

their curiosity, exciting their imagination, and inculcating in them sound values.

    5. I believe that every child is special and must be treated as such.

    6. I believe that I must honor and respect the implicit pleas of every child to me, his

teacher, to become what he can be.

    7. I believe that I must not differentiate between my students, and that I must not show

    any personal preferences or dislikes.

    8. I believe that I must not let my own problems, frustrations and anxieties color and

affect my work and my attitude towards my students.

    9. I believe that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It is my personal approach

that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather.

miserable or joyful. I can humiliate, humor, hurt or heal,

    11. I believe that and in all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will

be escalated, and a child humanized or dehumanized.

    12. I believe that I must be courteous, humane and kind in all my dealings with my

    colleagues and my students.

    13. I believe that I must cooperate with the management and the authorities, respecting

their decisions and rules, yet never hesitating to express my own point of view.

  • 14. I believe that I may agree to disagree with the management, but always doing so

with frankness and sincerity instead of indulging in backbiting and destructive criticism.

    15. I believe that although teaching may not hold out the promise of increasing

monetary gain to the same extent as other profession, its greatest reward is in the

appreciation and affection of my students and the good I do to them

    16. I believe that having willingly chosen to be a teacher, I must also be willing to

respond sincerely with the effort, dedication and zeal, that teaching demands and

    deserves.

  • PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

Education is an individual, unique experience for every student who enters the four

corner of a classroom. Teacher must fully understand their role as a second parent of

every student, they must consider teaching to be a lifestyle, and a passion that requires

a heart to serves the best not only to have a job with high salary or what so ever. It is a

teachers promise to educate the young minds of the youth and mold them into a better

citizen that a new generation is needed, they must facilitate for their students to learn

and grow academically, personally, and ethically.

In order to accomplish these goals, establishing an honest rapport with students and

gaining their respect is the first thing that a teacher must do as soon as the student

enters classroom. It is a big challenges for every teacher especially those who are new

in this field to accomplish it, but when she established it he can have an open, honest

communication with her students and there is no need for her to preach students every

time because they already put it into reality.

Motivation and inspiration are very important in academic learning. Teacher must

give her full heart into teaching so that learners will also give their full hearts into

learning. When those two are combined there will be a simultaneous journey for both

teacher and students because students will now be participated actively and to achieve

active learning, a teacher must demonstrate enthusiasm and express confidence in the

abilities to learn and be successful. In this case constructivist method is

needed, methods of teaching in one's classroom forces students to take an active role

in their education by making choices and assuming responsibility for intelligent inquiry

    and discovery.

importantly is her personal growth. Having the warmth heart and showing compassion

to students make the students feel that teachers love them. By this teacher will have

  • show fairness and consistency in everything and every decision that we make. By doing

this, we are able to help students to be mature.

All youth must be given a chance to be educated regardless of gender, race, and

ethnicity because all of them have unique abilities and they deserves a professional

educator who is well-informed, sophisticated and knowledgeable, both in their area of

expertise and life. Having a personal relationship with every student, a teacher can give

each an equal chance of success in every student.

Being a teacher is not an easy job. Even if you are the most intelligent person in this

whole world, you will never be the best teacher unless you put your whole heart into it.

As a future educator, I accepted the challenges and promise to put my heart

wholeheartedly so that young minds will be inspired and motivated to be a better citizen

of this country in new generation.

  • Nervousness strikes me at my first day as a Student Teacher of Lagro High

December 04 is my first day at Lagro High School, we are so thankful that the

TLE Department Head Dr. Ortiz accepted us to conduct our practicum at their school.

She deploys us on different areas in TLE and I was assigned on the Specialization of

Caregiving IV under the clinic teacher, Mrs. Vilma A. Vitug.

Creating a lesson plan is the most important thing to do as a teacher, you

created lesson plan and let my cooperating teacher checked it.

It is not a very tiring day for me during my first month because I only handled

three classes and the rest of the day I am on the clinic and assisting my cooperating

teacher in her duty as a clinic teacher. After the Christmas vacation, I found out that

one teacher went abroad and the TLE Department Head give the two sections of

grade 8 to my cooperating teacher. It is really hard for both of us because it is one

week before the third periodical exam r

grades because no records left by the teacher. To solve this dilemma, TLE Head told

my cooperating teacher to give all students one point higher than their previous

grades so we did it and done.

I also experience to create a Periodical Examination for the Fourth Year

Student that I handled, and it is not so hard for me to make one because we already

undergone it when I was still a third year students on my subject Measurement and

    Evaluation.

After the Examination, I recorded the results and check students requirements

then encode their grades on the grade sheet of the adviser. I am not haggard during

those days because I still have a lot of time.

I forgot to tell, I am also the team leader, and as a team leader, I talked to the

TLE Department Head to reschedule our demonstration day and make it earlier than

the schedule given to us. This week is also the first week of our observation in TLE

teachers with different areas for us to learn different strategies that we can adopt

when we become a professional teacher after graduation and being the TLE

Department Head, Dr. Ortiz accompany us in every observation.

Before we leave the Lagro High School we are required to have our Final

Demonstration. February 17, 2015 I will not forget that day because that is my

Demonstration day, I was a little bit nervous because of the taught that Master

Teachers, TLE Department Head and my Coordinating Teacher was there to observe

  • me but later on realized that it was for my own good. I did all my best and happy to

the result and feedback of the observers to my Final Demonstration though it is not

perfect it was a great accomplishment that students are participated actively.

After the demonstration I taught It will be more easy than before, but I was

wrong. It was my last day at Lagro High School, when I heard a bad news, my

cooperating teacher was hit by car accident and needed to leave school until she feel

ok and able to move her right arm because of this incident, I extended my stay in

Lagro High School then do the job of my cooperating teacher, I was a student teacher

at the same time a clinic nurse (good thing that no one came with heavy problem,

happy to do it in one day. After computing the grades of my fourth year students, I

also computed the grades of my grade 8 students. I experienced to talked to different

teachers regarding the grades of students and I am proud to say that I overcome

    those instances.

On my last day, I clean the room so that when my cooperating teacher comes

back, she will be relaxed. I finished all the task but while cleaning I noticed that

s a vandalism inside and outside the room, I called the grade 8 students and let

them tell me who is behind those things when I find out based on my investigation

who it is, I bring them to the Department Head then next to the Guidance Office and

because of this case, since my cooperating teacher were not around, I extended my

last day is. I always extended my stay,

(seems like Lagro High School really want me that always make an incident for me to

    extend my stay.)

Right now, I am done with those matters and extended no more. I am happy

and glad that I experience all of these things before I become a true teacher.

  • HISTORY OF LAGRO HIGH SCHOOL

In the early seventies, the growing number of people in the GSIS La Mesa

Homeowners Association (GLAMEHA) triggered the need for a high school in Lagro

Subdivision. The officers of GLAMEHA requested fervently for an establishment of a

high school next to Lagro Elementary School. With the aid of the city government and

the education bureau, Novaliches High School with Mr. Florencio Dumlao as principal

started accepting students. This high school annex started on June 13, 1974 with 87

students and a facility, which were humbly two housing units in Block 59 and chairs

    the students provided themselves.

On August 26 of the same year, Lagro Annex was transferred to the Lagro

Elementary School compound and occupied the sawali-walled makeshift building.

The high school was then headed by Mr. Crispulo A. Pilar with Mr. Narciso M.

Caingat, Mrs. Nilfa C. Caingat and Mrs. Greta Manlapig as pioneer teachers.

Two years after, the enrolment rose to 249 from the former 87 with three sections in

first year, two in second year, and one in third year. They were all managed to stay in

just four classrooms guided by nine teachers.

The first graduation from this high school happened two years after with an increased

enrolment of 461 with Mrs. Josefa Q. Maglipon, head of the Home Economics

Department in Novaliches High School, who replaced Mr. Pilar(who left for the United

    States).

The School Year 1977-1978 reached 774 with 15 sections occupying seven

classrooms. With this problem on accommodation, Mr. Florencio Dumlao appealed to

the national government for a Lagro Annex Building. Through the unrelenting efforts

of the department head-in-charge and with the PTA lobbying behind, the 1.3 hectare

present school site, and building became a reality.

  • At the opening of classes on June 11, 1978, 923 students flocked the newly

constructed building which was a two-story 18-room structure standing proudly with

Mrs. Maglipon as head of the school. She was replaced with Mr. Silverio Reinoso. Mr.

Reinoso had to continue with the challenge to manage 19 sections of students with

    just 32 teachers.

It was the significant day of September 1, 1978 that Lagro High School was

inaugurated by Mrs. Commemoracion M. Concepcion, the former schools division

superintendent. Thus, it has become its foundation day.

Hand in hand with the influx of residents in Lagro Subdivision is the continuous

increase of student population. And to accommodate this increasing population, a six-

room building on the southern site of the campus was constructed. The school then

also improved with the completion of concrete fences surrounding the campus,

construction of the stage and the new steel flagpole, all to house and educate the

    community.

Mr. Reinoso was replaced by Mrs. Virginia H. Cerrudo on September of 1981.

Mrs. Cerrudo was replaced with Ms. Felicidad C. Gutierrez in 1987 bringing another

building funded by the city government. The same year created the Lagro High

School-Payatas Annex with 257 students. This annex was assigned to Mrs. Sheridan

Evangelista, who was then the Social Studies Department Head of the Main School.

Promoted as Principal IV, Ms. Gutierres was transferred to E. Rodriguez Jr. High

School. Mr. William S. Barcena took her place as the principal of Lagro High School

    on June 1991.

Three years after, Mr. Barcena was replaced by Mrs. Cristina C. Monis, the General

    Education Supervisor I-English, as Officer-In-Charge on January 8, 1993.

Mr. Gil T. Magbanua replaced Mrs. Monis on June 13, 1993

To accommodate the continuous increasing enrollees, the three-story building funded

by the Quezon City Government was constructed. The third Annex in Fairview was

finally opened with Mrs. Justina A. Farolan as the Teacher-In-Charge.

  • Dr. Consolacion C. Montano replaced Dr. Gil Magbanua later on with more

    improvements.

Mrs. Sheridan Evangelista made her comeback as the principal of Lagro High School

in 1998 with improved facilities and technology advancements for the school.

The dawn of more improvements was realized when Dr. Fernando C. Javier became

the principal in April 2003. The construction of the new building previously applied by

Mrs. Sheridan Evangelista was built and inaugurated by the successor, Dr. Javier.

The SB Building and the full renovation of the formerly called Social Hall was

transformed into a multi-purpose conference room conveniently equipped with

multimedia projectors and modern sound technology now being utilized for events,

seminars, workshops by the whole division. The construction of the new gate,

renovations of all facilities and the covered court; Lagro High School now boasts of

more motivation to pursue his dreams.

Lagro High School reaped achievements in the district, division, regional and national

competition under Dr. Javier. The Bureau of Alternative Learning System was

established and soon after the Open High School. The Special Education Program

was established accepting deaf and blind students. The Guidance Program was also

enhanced and improved with the administration of Dr. Javier. International

competitions, speech and debate contests sponsored by the government and private

companies, Palarong Pambansa, National Schools Press Conference and the

creation of the Special Program in the Arts which annually showcases talents in its

    culminating activities.

Today, as we speak, Lagro High School does not only have a growing number of

enrollees but also consistently develops as a community that consists of highly

competitive and productive members under the supervision of the new principal Dr.

    Maria Noemi Moncada.

  • VISION
