North West Student Enterprise ConferenceProblems:• Instability of global markets • Increasing unemployment rate among graduates• Graduates leaving University without enterprise skills that employers are looking for Response:We inspired students to be entrepreneurial and improve their skills throughthe stories of local businesses, workshops and a successful millionaire. TTo encourage the use of public transport we ran a compe on to win prizes.Results:• Impacted 60 parcipants• 80% aendees agreed that the conference was beneficia• 40% of parcipants used public transportFuture:WWe are going to make it an annual event and cooperate withsociees from other Universies to share our experiences andknowledge with them.

Response:The team idenfied three groups with different problems, which need appropriateapproach and tools.FLiP Kids (6-11 FLiP Kids (6-11 years) to change saving cultureFLiP Teens (12-17 years) to change spending cultureFLiP Pro (18-25) to teach about money&finance managementResults:• Prepared story and piggy banks for FLiP Kids• Established partnerships with 3 primary schoolsFuture: The team is ready to go schools and transfer the knthe knowledge through the games and materials prepared this year. Further the FLiP Champions will be trained and provided with teaching materials.

Problems:• High street soware for SME’s is too expensive • Unethical use of unlicensed soware• Lack of awaraness regarding Business Ethics in the companiesResponse:The ‘Freebies for Business’ project has been prepared to educate and inform local companies about business ethics focusing on the issue of using unlicensed sosoware. The team aims to show these companies alternaves and potenal profits from using them.Results:• Established network of 19 companies• Workshop materials preparedFuture:The team is going to work closely with selected local ccompanies to help them implement freeware. Addionally,workshops will be provided for new business start ups (from the FlyingStart Programme) and students.
