Casus Radboud UMC In de casus keken de zorgverleners positief terug op de

communicatie tijdens een vacuümextractie. Echter, de ouders ervaarden dit anders.

- Falende perinatale zorg: 75% veroorzaakt door gebrekkige communicatie (2,3)

- Barende vrouwen zijn sterk, maar tegelijkertijd ook bijzonder kwetsbaar (4)

Conclusie- Sluit aan bij de behoeften van de barende vrouw: kennis,

controle, verbinding en congruente communicatie- Combineer verschillende communicatiefactoren en zorg dat

deze congruent aan elkaar zijn.- De literatuur is evident. Echter, dit wordt niet in de praktijk

toegepast.- Onderschat de waarde van goede communicatie niet!

Aanbeveling- Educatie over congruente communicatie- Stimuleren van gedragsverandering van zorgverleners

(ASE model)- Meer onderzoek naar “communicatie op maat”

Houd als zorgverlener altijd in gedachte: barendevrouwen zijn individuen, met ieder een eigen benaderingswijze. Stem hier op af, wees congruent in je communicatie en ben bewust van je houding. Dat bevalt beter!
