    Dear Friends,iJiUurn Vcrwysings fcjo

We hare received your letter of September 11th and thank you for the information contained therein.

We hare noted your remarks concerning the setting up of a new organisation in the Transvaal.

With regard to the discriminatory measures takei) against many peace workers in your oountry at the present time, in particular your President and Secretary, we hare written to certain national committees and representatives of the World Movement to ask them to show their solidarity with your Movement and to make their contribution to the action taken for the withdrawal of these measures.

We have also taken measures to clear up the unsettled matter with our friend Ruth and we regret that as a result of difficulties beyond our oontrol she had to delay her return Journey by some days.

Aa you know, at its meeting from 13th - 19th September, the Bureau of the World Council examined under the second item of its agenda the activity of the World Movement and questions of organisation. A certain number of essential ideas emerged from the discussion which the Bureau has instructed us to make known to the National Committees and to the members of the World Council. This

JH is the purpose of the "Recommendations on Problems of III Organisation" which you will find enclosed.

The Bureau considered that each national movement could undertake an examination of its particular organisational questions on the basis of this document. Such an examination and the resulting conclusions could furnish the material for the Organisation Commission’s discussions at the next session of the Council.; the material being sent to us either through the intermediary of the representatives taking part in the session, or by letter.

  • !e would therefore bo much obliged to you for auoh effort* * 0 you can malt# la this direction, and also if you would 1st ua hare your opinions and surest Iona on the problems raised in these "Recommendations" aa a whole, as aoon aa poaaible.

Ve alao want to request you most urgently to send ua your proposal* for lnrltationa to the sezt session of the Council in time for ua to examine them and take all neoeasary atepa.

Finally, we will be pleased to reoelTe the report ota your reoent aotirities whioh you promised in your laat letter.

    With beat wiahee,Yours sincerely,

For the Secretariat of the World Counoil of Peace
