    Introduction

    Field hockey is a game in which two teams attempt to score a goal by using sticksthat are curved at one end.

    Each team is comprised of 11 players, usually 5 forwards, 3 halfbacks, 2 fullbacks,and 1 goalkeeper and 5 substitutes.

    A match between two teams consists of two halves, each 30-35 minutes induration.

    History of Indian Hockey

    N ational game of India.

    First Hockey club established in Calcutta in 1885-86.

    First debut was made in 1928 Amsterdam games.

    First gold medal won in 1928.

    From 1928 to 1956, the Indian hockey juggernaut won six straight Olympic goldmedals, while winning 24 consecutive matches.

    M onthly Salary:

    S alary should be based on,

    1. The players overall performance including statistics in all previous seasons.

    2. The players overall contribution contribution to the teams success or failure.

    3. The players special qualities of leadership or public appeal.

    4. The players length of service with the team.

    R etainer Fee/ Contract fee:

    It will be paid yearly to players of the team based on his grading done by theIndependent monitoring committee consisting of professionals.

    1. Gr ade C: - Rs 15,000/- p.m. with cumulative points upto 200Having no or little experience of International Hockey.Must sign "entry-level" contracts at least for first two years.

    2. Gr ade B: - Rs 20,000/-p.m. with cumulative points upto 400Must have played at least 30 matchesS ound track record & past performanceHis contribution to the overall team performance

    Tournament-wise point totals will be computed for the following categories.

    A total sum of individual players awards would be distributed at the end of season.

    Travelling and Conveyance:-

    All the players will be allowed to travel by 3 tier A/c during the contract period. Any person whohas the contract renewed for 10 times in his life-time will get life-time concession in railways upto 50%.

    M edical benefits:-

    W ill get the treatment in all hospitals of the country during contract period.

    Coaching & Training:-

    Professional coaches to be appointed to improve playing technique & the teams performance .

    Tax Exemption :-

    Players to be given income tax exemption during contract period.
