The House SystemStudents at Melbourne Central Catholic are assigned to one of four “Houses,” which include Dragons, Lions, Jaguars, and Gryphons, to build camaraderie and friendships. Throughout the year, the Houses will compete in various competitions and accrue points along the way with fun activities such as field day games, pep rallies and social events.

Performing Arts ProgramThe Performing Arts department offers band, choir, orchestra, guitar, percussion ensemble, musical theater, music technology, and drama classes. One of the main focuses of the choir and band is to prepare for the school’s monthly mass where the choir leads the student body in song. Melbourne Central Catholic’s own rock band, Jackwagon, is an essential part of the school, performing at campus events such as football games and pep rallies. They also compete annually in the Space Coast Garage Band Contest.

State-of-the-Art TechnologyEach student at Melbourne Central Catholic receives a Google Chromebook to use, allowing them to go paperless and expand their studies beyond the classroom. Its easy-to-use operating system means students are able to effectively take notes in class and access hundreds of Google Apps and extensions in order to work collaboratively on group projects.

Community Service ProgramLed by the Campus Ministry Department, students volunteer annually in the local community at nursing homes, hospitals, Habitat for Humanity, beach clean-up events, local parish churches, and many other organizations in need of caring volunteers. With a minimum of 100 hours of community service needed in order to meet graduation requirements, all students will positively influence their community during their time at Melbourne Central Catholic.

“I believe the most prominent difference between Melbourne Central Catholic and other schools is the student to staff ratio. It allowed for me to become personally acquainted with a majority of the faculty, which has heightened my professional social skills and improved my learning experience. The two biggest lessons I have learned while studying here are time management and the value of personal growth. I believe these two life lessons will take me far after graduation and beyond.”
