Difesa is an intelligent wearable that is designed for kickboxers and other martial arts practitioners. Itmeasures the defense position during training/sparring and gives personal feedback if the fighter does not havethe optimal posture. It helps to train defense and prevents receiving too many hits from the opponent.The feedback system is included in a longsleeve compression shirt, which is comfortable to wear and givesfreedom of movement. Two sensors are placed on the arms which compare the set position with the currentposition. These are connected with an Arduino which is programmed to activate two vibrating sensors. Thesesensors are placed on the upper arms, to keep them close to the source of information (sensors).So when the arms are tilted for too long (which is 2 seconds already), the user will feel a vibration in the armthat doesnt have the right defense position. The user can set the zero-position him or herself, to adapt itto their prefered defense position. After using the design, the Arduino can be connected with a computer to read-out the data which show which of the arms shows a bad defense-position (which has vibrated the most).

A student team from TU Delft in the Netherlands have pushed the boundaries of 3D printing by designing and producing a fully functional 3D printed stainless steel bicycle. The students designed the frame to demonstrate the potential of this new method for 3D printing. The students achieved the goal of their three-month project by printing the frame of the bicycle with the help of MX3D in Amsterdam. The Bicycle was designed as part of a research project at the Industrial Design Engineering faculty into the viability of metal 3D printing using a welding machine. As part of wider research being done at the 3D Building Field Lab.15

We Design is a Dutch finger splints and braces manufacturer, developing and producing their own models for years. Their work finds its way to clients through a network of orthopedic engineers, occupational therapists and medical specialists. We Design is mainly active in the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Belgium and Germany but delivers all around the world.Early 2014 Wouter Engelshoven, director of Silversplints, has seen the opportunity to further innovate the production line and shorten lead times by utilizing 3D-printing. By integrating a professional wax 3D-printer into their process and mastering all the production steps they can manage to keep delivering the high standard that their network demands for their product.Frank & Frens automated 3D-model generation for the most popular models, so that the 3D-printers can take over a large part of the production. Apart from shorter lead times and the elimination of CAD work, it is also less time-consuming to finish the product after printing as the 3D-printer integrates many details that required manual labor previously.

At the moment we are automating the process even further, and are also increasing the amount of available frame styles
