Conclusions

FOS supplementation to suckling piglets has a

bifidogenic effect in the colon on day 14 after birth

Jejunal gene expression of FOS piglets showed lower

activity of immunological genes compared to the

controls

Increased diversity in jejunum in piglets

receiving FOS

Lower activity of cell cycle related processes,

and higher activity extracellular matrix

processes showed in piglets receiving FOS
