Een Nederlands Museum en Cultureel Centrum

Voor Ons Allen. Met Uw Hulp!

Presentation – 2011

Ons Museum en Cultureel Centrum

2In a Nutshell – In een Notedop

No Longer Invisible...

Ons Museum will tell the inspirational success story of the Dutch in New Zealand: from Abel Tasman’s first contact with the Maori, to today’s achievements in farming, sports, business, the arts and more.

We’ll also set up cultural exchanges between Nederland and New Zealand, to improve the bonds between two nations and two peoples.

We’re building Ons Centrum in Foxton, next to iconic Dutch windmill De Molen. We’re working in partnership with Tangata Whenua, Horowhenua District Council and others. A raft of activities will be brought together under one roof, in the multimillion dollar tourist attraction Te Awahou – Nieuwe Stroom.

3Vision and Mission Statement

Our Vision:“Share, with pride, the inspirational stories about the many lively connections between Nederlanders and New Zealanders, to create a greater awareness and deeper understanding of our common past, present and future.”

Our Mission:“Create a financially sustainable attraction that will exhilarate visitors through displays, exhibitions, activities, exchanges, entertainment, education and research – in a manner that inspires enhanced collaboration and interaction between two peoples and two countries.”

We Create Connections Between: The Nederlanders in New Zealand

The past, present and future

New Zealand and the Netherlands

We’ll let everybody discover ‘A Touch of Dutch in New Zealand…’
