Naturen hr r vacker, ren och enkel, sger Cathrine. Det syns i vra produkter. Vi vill att vr design ska vara hllbar och rlig, bde i hur produkterna r utformade och hur vi tillverkar dem.

Fast Edblad som fretag har kat explosionsartat de senaste ren, r det knslan av naturliga ingredienser och enkel elegans som hller kollek- tionerna samman spaprodukterna innehller granknotsextrakt, smyckena r gjorda av stl och klderna tillverkas till strsta del i naturmaterial som ull, siden och bomull.

Den frsta butiken ppnades i Grisslehamn, i en liten rd sjbod omgiven av fiskaffrer. Nu har Edblad 10 egna butiker i Sverige, med 600 ter-frsljare vrlden runt och ett stndigt vxande globalt rykte.

Fast de nu har ett kreativt team som jobbar med dem, r det fortsatt viktigt fr Hans och Cathrine att verblicka produkterna, bde p ett estetiskt och etiskt plan. Det r ju vrt namn som r fretaget, s det r viktigt att vi kan st fr produkterna i alla led. Drfr ska de vara bra gjorda och hllbara.

Vlgrenhet och engagemang r ngot Hans, Cathrine och deras 55 anstllda vrnar om. De senaste ren har Edblad sknkt en del av vinsten frn utvalda produkter till organisationer som SOS Barnbyar, Barncancerfonden, Naturskyddsfreningen och AiDucatius.

Den tydliga lnken till organisationer som hjlper barn kommer frn Cathrines fre detta jobb som lrare. Jag har nog lite dligt samvete ver att ha slppt lraryrket, s det hr r ett bra stt att kunna bidra. Det kan gra sn skillnad, och vi fr fantastisk hjlp frn vra kunder.

Miljomsorg. Krlek till naturen. Socialt ansvar. Lugn. Alla egenskaper som knns vldigt svenska och speglar svenska vrderingar. Kanske, sger Cathrine, men vi har inte planerat det s. Det r bara vi. Vi frsker leva p ett bra vis och ha lite vardagslyx, som kan vara en silkestopp eller rosguld i ett rhnge. Eller s kan det vara utsikten mot havet nr man vaknar. Allt hnger ihop.

6 7It all starts with the sea. Outside the panoramic windows of Cathrine and Hans Edblads home, the Baltic stretches as far as the eye can see, providing inspiration for colours and materials for their designs. In winter the water can be icy grey, puckered like a sheet of raw metal. In summer, it takes on a shade of deepest blue, fracturing the sunlight into glittering shards.

The nature here is beautiful, simple and real, says Cathrine. This is reflected in our products. We want them to be honest, both in design and how they are produced.

Though Edblad has come a long way and grown exponentially over the past few years, that sense of rugged nature and simple elegance is what holds the products together the spa range contains extract from spruce, the jewellery ranges are made from stainless steel and the clothes lean heavily towards natural materials.

Edblads first shop was located in the coastal port of Grisslehamn, housed in a red log cabin and flanked by fishmongers. Now there are 10 standalone shops in Sweden, 600 retailers around the world and a growing global reputation.

It is still important for Hans and Cathrine to have an overview of all items in the collections, both aesthetically and ethically. Our name is our brand, so we want to make and source long-lasting, sustainable products that are kind to the environment and support society.

Corporate charity is something Hans, Cathrine and the rest of the 55-strong staff strongly believe in. Over the past years Edblad has dedicated part of the sales profit from a selected range of products to organisations such as SOS Children Villages, the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation and AiDucatius.

The clear bent towards charities working with children and education comes from Cathrines former life as a teacher. I guess I feel a little bit guilty about giving up teaching, so this is a good way to make a difference. We get great results, thanks to our customers who are also committed to helping.

Sustainability. The love of nature. Social responsibility. Silence. All attributes that feel particularly Swedish and mirror Swedish values. Perhaps, says Cathrine. But its not a conscious direction. Its just us. We strive to live well through small everyday luxuries that can be the touch of silk or a hint of rose gold in an earring. Or it can be the view of the sea first thing in the morning. It all hangs together.

For spring and summer 15 we worked with the theme traveller as inspiration to create a capsule wardrobe. A collection that is as curated as possible, but also versatile and multifunctional clothes that work for relaxed beach life, sensational evenings and, of course, everyday life.

The modern woman is not uniform, but multifaceted. For her, luxury is not glamour, it is authenticity. She longs to leave superficiality and cynicism behind. She likes to do yoga and meditates.

She wants, if only for a while, to live in the moment, leaving e-mail and social media behind to be fully present, to experience and to feel. A rare moment of luxury.

Edblad is for strong-minded women who want to look and feel great and who have an inherent passion for design and aesthetics. Their daughters and mothers also enjoy Edblad.

Mnster har alltid varit en del av svenskt design DNA. Sedan vikingarnas slingrande ormar och stilrena runor genom frgglad kurbits och hemstickade Lovikkavantar har upprepningen av symboler varit central och ger en knslo-laddad, instinktiv respons.

Prints and patterns are a deeply ingrained part of the Swedish design DNA. From the vikings twirling snakes and runes to the geometric shapes and stars on knitted mittens, the patterns are often a celebration of repetition and order, and evoke an immediate emotional response.

Nepal is one of the worlds poorest coun-tries, but it is rich in craftsmanship and skilled workers. Some of these women weave our Edblad Friendship bracelets, following an ancient Tibetan pattern that symbolises that connection between people.

By buying this Edblad Friendship bracelet, you help the women provide food for their families and send their children to school. You also prevent trafficking, which many women are forced into for financial reasons.

For every bracelet sold, we will also donate 30 SEK to the Red Cross for the construction of school latrines in Lamjung and Tanahun districts in Nepal clean toilets in schools are vital to stop disease spreading among the children.

Utanfr Kathmandu ligger ett av Nepals ldsta hantverkscentrum, en by dr familjer har producerat regionens rda lerkrl i generationer. Det mesta grs fr hand och utan elektricitet. Lerkrlen sljs p lokala marknader men eftersom fler och fler nepaleser nu anvnder plast har keramikerna svrt att f sina varor slda.

Detta problem fick en del av familjerna att tnka om hur de skulle tillverka sin keramik, och vem de skulle slja till. De uppgraderade sina fabriker och lyckades f fram produkter som r mycket mer hllbara, trots att de fortfarande grs fr hand och med ett minimum av energifrbrukning.

Vi r nu stolta ver att kunna presentera vr nya stengodskollektion designad av Edblad och handtillverkad i Nepal.

Just outside Kathmandu lies one of the oldest pottery-making villages in Nepal, a centre for craft where the workshops producing the traditional red earthenware pots are still run by families. Most of the production is done by hand and without electricity. The pots are sold in local markets, but since the Nepalese increas-ingly prefer to use plastic utensils, the potters are finding it hard to make a living.

This problem has made some families rethink their production and sales. Keeping their roots in traditional pottery, they have improved their factory to an international level and now make stoneware that is much more durable though it is still made by hand and using only a minimum of electricity.

We are happy and proud to introduce our new stoneware range, Edblad design handmade in Nepal.

12 egg yolks125 g caster sugar

Stir thoroughly, until smooth and golden yellow.

250 g butter125 ml freshly squeezed lemon juicezest from 2 lemons, finely grated50 ml elderflower cordial (undiluted)75 g caster sugar

Melt butter with lemon juice, lemon zest, elderflower cordial and sugar in a thick-bottom pan. Pour in the egg yolk and sugar mix and stir carefully.

Heat gently while stirring until the curd thickens it mustnt come to the boil. If you have one, use a thermometer and dont go beyond 8284C.

Let the curd cool off and pour through a fine sieve. Serve in glasses or dessert bowls.

35Brunch at Edblad in Gsvik

nda sedan starten 2006 har Edblad arbetat med samma fabrik i Kina fr att producera vra smycken. Fabriken har vxt med Edblad och idag r de 80 anstllda.

Sommaren 2013, efter sju rs samarbete, kom fabriksgaren Luke med familj till Sverige fr att beska Hans och Cathrine Edblad ett par dagar i Roslagen. Ett drygt r senare kte Hans till Kina fr att ytterligare strka och frdjupa samarbetet med Luke avseende design- och produktutveckling.

Under 2014 gjordes ytterligare ett besk till Kina. Denna gng kte vd Ulrika Mostrm gren och inkpare Josefin Andersson dit.

Ulrika Mostrm gren berttar: Edblad strvar efter att vara ett ansvarstagande och hllbart fretag. Genom att beska fabriken kan vi, tillsammans med fabriks-garen, arbeta fr en s trygg och bra arbetsmilj som mjligt. Till vr hjlp har vi ocks haft ett oberoende internationellt fretag, som arbetar fr att skra arbets-miljer samt skydda mnniskor och platser.

Besket var fantastiskt givande p flera stt och vi har ftt en frdjupad respekt fr det hantverk och den kompetens som fabrikens medarbetare besitter sger Josefin Andersson.

Ever since Edblad started in 2006 we have worked with a factory in China to produce our jewellery. The factory has grown with us and today has 80 employees.

In the summer of 2013 the owner of the factory, Luke, came to Sweden with his family to spend a few days with Hans and Cathrine Edblad in their home in the archipelago. A year later, Hans went to China to further strengthen the collaboration with Luke regarding the design and product development.

In 2014, another trip to China was undertaken, this time by CEO Ulrika Mostrm gren and buyer Josefin Andersson.

We work hard to be a responsible and sus-tainable company, says Ulrika Mostrm gren. By visiting the factory, we can together with the owner create as safe a working environment as possible. We have also collaborated with an independent inter-national auditor who works towards safe environments, and protecting people and milieus.

Our visit was fantastically rewarding in many ways, and we have an increased sense of respect for the skill and the competence of the workers, says Josefin Andersson.
