My magazine has a total of 45, this makes it a relatively small magazine in comparison to most other music magazines, however this reduces costs of production. Ths also leaves room for an increase as the magazine becomes more well known in the market.

Draft Pitch:

My magazine will be a throwaway magazine that will be distributed weekly in order to allow readers to keep up with the latest in Indie/Alternative music, due to it being throwaway magazine it is easily disposable for it’s readers and means it’s not to expensive to produce. The lost cost in production will allow us to sell the magazine at a cheap price which is important as it will allow a wider range if people to buy the magazine. The magazine targets an audience of 16-21 year olds as they are not only the most common age group who listen to Indie/Alternative music but were also the age range most commonly buying music magazines according to market research. This age range also provided enough information when asked about the potential for a magazine targeting them, because of this we could finalise our ideas. We were told that most of the readers would be interested in information on bands of varying backgrounds and few were also looking for more laid-back bands who weren’t as well know as others because of this we intend to include pages about bands and gigs in order to appeal this. The audience were also interested in a colour scheme that would stand out in comparison to other magazines, because of this we aimed to create a colour scheme that way not only common in conventions but also matched the colour scheme of the magazine. Those interviewed implied that they would be pulled in more by a cluttered style of rather than a minimalist style and so we look to lean towards this. The magazine will look for sponsors and advertisement partners of various styles and brands as to appeal to the wide variety of readers, this will also work well with the style of the of the magazine. The magazine features various competitions per issue in order to give fans the chance to win things such as gig tickets, this will also bring in readers and encourage readers to reader more of the magazine.
