    The project: Solidarits Jeunesses is an organisation that works for non-formal education. Itruns a number of small community centres in rural environments and organises short andlong-term international workcamps, social integration projects, training programmes andactions for international solidarity. reated in !""#, the association I$%&S, represents theproject of Solidarits Jeunesses in 'idi-(yrnes. $he main activities of the association

    I$%&S are the organisation of workcamps with international volunteers, the organisation ofworkshops raising awareness of the environment, and the promotion of volunteering.

    Location of the project: the project is in )agupie, a small village with *#" inhabitants, inthe region +(ays 'idi- uercy , situated in a rural and isolated area, about hundred kilometresnorth-eastern of $oulouse. $his territory of ccitan traditions is covered by an associative net,which organises social and cultural activities, in an environment marked by weak economicactivities and the ageing of the population. )agupie is at #/ minutes by car from Septfonds0head office of the association itrus1, and it is about thirty kilometres from the towns of 2lbi0/" """ inhabitants1, 3aillac 04!     Role an tas!s of the "olunteers: 5olunteers will work #" to #/ hours per week and taketheir holidays in consultation with the team, according to the season and needs of theassociation. $wo half days per week are given to the conception and realisation of a personalproject and language support. 6y participating in workshops and meetings organised by theassociation, volunteers are actively involved in the associative life, contribute to the generalorgani7ation of the implemented activities, and can propose their own ideas.

    2ctivities8- 'anual work8 5olunteers will participate to the renewing and reconstructing of an old farmand its buildings, which is called +)a 'ayounelle , in order to create a centre of reception andintercultural meeting, as well as the restoration of the small buildings in the surrounding

    municipalities. $he work is undertaken in a team, and managed under the responsibility of a9ualified leader.- )ocal animation8 $he volunteers will participate regularly in activities of local animation, incultural events or in activities with educational character in partnership with the municipalities,institutions and the local associations. $he association supports for e:ample the local schoolsto set up workshops regarding the environment, within the framework of the project of thecollective garden.- ;orkcamps8 )ong term volunteers may become campleaders during the summer in other
