• Space Governance Group
– Aims to raise awareness about space in consultation with various government entities
– Take decisions on space activities and cooperation agreements (e.g. ESA)
– Invite entities who have initiatives on space research
• European Space Strategy
– The COMPET council of 30 May 2017 adopted the Council Conclusions on the European Space Strategy that was published by the Commission on 26th October 2016.
• National Space Policy
– Launched on 26 April 2017 (http://www.mcst.gov.mt)
– To present a common front between the ongoing space initiatives at a European level and those at a national level
– To better coordinate space activities current being undertaken locally
– To exploit opportunities presented by space systems

• Copernicus Relays act as multipliers developing initiatives:
– To promote Copernicus as a source of free, open, and reliable information to meet the needs of local public services.
– To promote Copernicus as source of full, free, open, and reliable data for the development of environmental services with high commercial potential by local entrepreneurs.
– To promote opportunities offered by the Copernicus programme at a national level e.g. Copernicus Masters competition & Copernicus Accelerator 2017
