Katja van Groningen(1976) founded her label Blithe in 2007, het studio located in the fashion district Modekwartier in Arnhem. She mainly focuses on working with natural materials such as silk, felt, wool and cotton. Blithe finds her use of materials, hand dye techniques and search for form very important to communicate her vision and her way of working. Blithe’s collection is also known for the use of different shades of one color and playing with the contrast between textures, form or color. Blithe creates colorful and harmonious designs, inspired by materials, techniques en experiments. Every piece is delicately handcrafted and often dyed with patterns which are originated by the dye processes. Blithe hopes her work by the wearer will be cherished.

Katja van Groningen (1976) startte haar label Blithe in 2007, met de studio gelegen in het Modekwartier in Arnhem. Ze focust voornamelijk op het werken met natuurlijke materialen zoals zijde, vilt, wol en katoen. Blithe vind haar materiaal gebruik, verftechnieken en vorm onderzoek belangrijk bij het communiceren van haar visie en manier van werken. Blithe’s collectie is herkenbaar door het gebruik van verschillende schakeringen van een kleur en het spelen met contrast tussen textuur, vorm of kleur. Blithe creëert kleurrijke en harmonieus designs, geïnspireerd door materiaal, technieken en experimenten. Elk stuk is zorgvuldig met de hand gemaakt en word vaak geverfd met patronen die door het verfproces zijn ontstaan. Blithe hoopt dat haar werk door de drager wordt gekoesterd
